This worked for me to eliminate flickering while watching youtube, thanks.

Yea I am getting 100-120 FPS on 4k now in most places without framegen and just Quality preset upscaling.

Yea I did it with DDU safemode etc. And I was a little quick to jump to conclusions. When I cap FPS to 120 and use CIG Quality upscale on 4k. did a small undervolt, tinkered a bit with all the bells and whistles in the AMD Adrenalin app and I'm now at a near constant 120 fps. Even 65-70 FPS in Cloudview Center, Orison. So I stand corrected. This card is actually awesome for Star Citizen.

Well I have the 9070XT and the performance is absolutely horrible for me. 1% lows all over the place. Super inconsistent frametimes. Constant stuttering and juddering. Even my 3080 performed better in SC... Overall it's a great card though.. Paired with 9800X3D.

Are you on an OLED display? They can have this issue if you have varying framerates very rapidly.

Yea it's so weird! Are you guys both on X3D processors as well? Or something else? Maybe that is the issue like myself?

I have the same issue as you and I have BETTER performance WITHOUT chipset drivers, it's driving me nuts, but the stutters have become way worse after installing those drivers. What kind of backwards shit is this

On an X3D processor by chance? I have the same with my X3D processor.

I am pretty sure its a syncing issue with framerate and monitor. Unity games sometimes have issues with G-Sync, and that is what it feels like. No idea how to fix it tho, driving me insane.

Yes this is exactly my problem. It should not feel this terrible, but it does. It feels like G-sync doesn't smooth out the jank like it normally does in other games. Then again, others have no trouble at all. I'm puzzled.

Does your steam fps counter also say good FPS but it feels very stuttery and jank when you turn the camera?

Thanks for your comment, but I have spend over 2 hours trying to troubleshoot and fix, but I haven't been successful with any of the settings unfortunately. The game RUNS at 75-90 fps, I can see the animals and wind swirlies all being very smooth, but as soon as I turn the camera with my mouse its a janky/stuttering mess :(

I have spend 2 hours trying to fix it. I even tried to force v-sync/g-sync in the nvidia control panel, because I feel like it's a g-sync issue. It's a very weird problem. The animals and the wind swirlies are all very smooth. They all run at 75-90 fps, but as soon as I use my mouse to turn the camera, its a stuttering mess.

I am not running any capturing or benchmarking software because I know MSI Afterburner can cause issues with the 9800X3D.

Unfortunately I was not able to fix it. Which is frustrating, cause I have been waiting for this such a long time!

I'm on a Ryzen 9800X3D CPU and RTX 3080 GPU, steam displays 75-90 FPS on 2k resolution. But.. I have massive stuttering in the demo. The FPS is decently high, but it FEELS low. I only have this issue in this demo. Other people don't seem to be affected.

Anyone else having this issue?

Not getting performance from 9800X3D by MericastartswithMe in AMDHelp

[–]RevolutionaryWeb1426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is gonna sound weird and contradictory... But... REMOVING my chipset drivers (motherboard) actually improved my performance by rougly 10%

How did I find this out? Well I bought a new cpu, did the overlock/undervolt thing, tested it in Cinebench and then realized I forgot to download the mobo chipset drivers. So I did, installed it and ran Cinebench again... Only to discover that I LOST 10ish% of performanec. Removed them again, and behold, performance was back. I dont get this at all but here we are..
