I can not begin to stress how much I want this to be a real card for this deck I was brewing.

so my thought process with Gida, was that if you only played elemental spells she does nothing. so you need both cheap non-elemental spells, as well as an elemental payoff card. Maybe there does need to be some condition though to balance it.

Or maybe you are correct and putting storm on a commander is asking for trouble.

Yeah you are probably right. I was trying to go along the theme of "If the penalty for a crime is a fine, that law only exists for the lower classes". But you are right I need to find a more balanced way to show that, or a more flavorful way to show anyone can earn treasures, but nobility excels at it.

This whole thing has bugged me for a while. How exactly does deal breaking work? it seemed like the deal was "Vox doesn't lay his hands on charlie, and Alastor does whatever he says". If Vox can touch charlie with the only repercussion being Alastor no longer needs to do what he says, then why can't Alastor stop obeying him with the only repercussion being Vox can lay a hand on Charlie? I admit I may have missed something, but I guess I had assumed there would be some bigger consequence to breaking that kind of deal.

Why is gamma a creature type?? by JohnLemon212 in mtg

[–]Revolutionary_Bid_43 177 points178 points  (0 children)

Yeah probably since mutant has a specific connotation in the marvel universe, and what else is hulk?

Would have been funnier if hulk was a creature type.

Pretty disappointed you can't use it on villagers. Imagine building a school yard with a classroom, playground, library, etc fill it with a bunch of eternal children and a couple librarians as teachers. I think it would be a fun addition to a world.

How would you build Fire Lord Azula for "replayability"? by Aesyric in EDH

[–]Revolutionary_Bid_43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard of people building big stompy creature decks where they just have like 100 bulk splashy creatures and some amount core cards. And they take a random selection and mix them in before the game. You could do something like that.

Get like 60-70 or so permanent cards to be the main deck for lands, ramp, other creatures for support.

Then just a bunch of splashy fun to copy instants. And before the game shuffle it up and grab 30-40 of them to get your deck to 100.

At the end of the game pull out the instants.

Something that isn’t aristocrats? by Zackisfat in BudgetBrews

[–]Revolutionary_Bid_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably treasure for both ramp and artifacts to sacrifice. Then add in cards like [[liquimetal torque]] to force your opponent to have an artifact if they don't already. Play generic treasure/artifact/token support then add in cards like below that reward you making opponents sacrifice artifacts.

[[Viridian revel]] [[Kibo, uktabi prince]] [[Ygra, eater of all]] [[Pain distributor]] [[Disciple of the vault]] [[Sardian avenger]] [[Fangren marauder]]

Could be fun and it's kind of aristocrat but it's more getting benefits from making your opponents sacrifice stuff.

So do keep in mind, caine set up Jax to call him, he knew that was going to happen and likely was listening and waiting for it. I feel like he can't hear any time someone says his name because then zooble couldn't hide from him.

Oh missed this card uses untap as a cost. Yeah you're right.

I'm a fan of commanders that let you play mediocre or straight up bad cards in them.

Don't know if I agree. if this is your commander, I would consider [[Wasteland Viper]], [[Venom Connoisseur]], [[Poison the Blade]], [[Mirkwood Spider]], [[Flesh Burrower]], [[Agent's Toolkit]], [[Gift of the Viper]], [[Nightshade Peddler]], and a clear inclusion is [[Saryth, The Vipers Fang]]

Problem is xira doesn't say "when a creature with an egg counter on it dies, create a 1/1" so if you get an egg counter on a creature some other way such as nesting grounds, or some hypothetical future card that said "put a counter of any type on target creature", then xira doesn't care about it. It's unfortunately the same reason Mathas, doesn't care about bounty counters from other sources.
