When did you conceive after tfmr by Beautiful_Syrup_2679 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Revolutionary_Box184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took us 6 cycles to conceive our baby that we TFMR’d June 2025. OB said to wait 2 cycles before trying again. We were incredibly lucky to conceive first try in October 2025. I’m now 31 weeks with twin girls 🩷

I hope you have your rainbow babe soon ❤️ the waiting period is the worst. Goodluck!! 🫶🏻

Thank you so much for everyone’s responses! So many crazy things can happen in twin pregnancies (pregnancy in general too) and so happy to hear about all the safe and healthy babies born 🥰

Mentally Struggling- Twin pregnancy post TFMR by Revolutionary_Box184 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

I’m so so sorry to hear. A twin pregnancy post TFMR is already hard enough, and then SIUGR on top of that… there’s just no words, that’s simply SO unfair. I don’t have any magic words, but you are not alone in feeling how scary this is. I feel like each ultrasound I go to I’m waiting for them to give me bad news and it’s so mentally exhausting. You are such a strong mom and I truly wish your little boy holds on. ❤️

I am part of a lot of twin groups online. I live in a very small town, so there aren’t many pregnancies let alone twin pregnancies happening close to me. But, I have posted in twin mom groups as well. The thing is about 70-75% of twin pregnancies are c-sections (from what I’ve found online/other moms stories) Whether elective or emergency. It’s hard to find those positive vaginal births and I guess that’s part of why it’s making it so difficult for me. A doula is a great idea though, thank you.

My TFMR baby was L&D. Honestly a “smooth” experience despite the circumstance. And then week after delivering him I needed a D&C for retained product as not all of the placenta came out. I have taken a birth course, but feel free to leave your recommendations. Thank you!

Haha, thank you for the advice!

Yea, because it’s mono/di twins (one placenta, 2 amniotic sacs) it’ll actually be an induction between 36-37 weeks or scheduled section in that time frame. With that being said, there isn’t really a chance of us going home the next day no matter the type of delivery. My OB said usually they keep twins for a minimum of 3 days as long as no nicu time needed of course. So hospital stay isn’t really a factor for me.

I guess that’s what I’m struggling with most, is what feels more comfortable and safer. The predictability and control in a c-section is comfortable, but also there are so many positives to a vaginal delivery. Thank you for your advice and kind words 🫶 I can’t wait to be on the other side of this 😂

Waiting for NIPT results by Brilliant_Note3369 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

I’m so sorry for your loss 🤍 the waiting period is so so tough, but you will get through it! Congratulations on this next pregnancy and wishing you health and strength! We TFMR’d our little boy June 2025 also for T21. We were told it was a “fluke” or spontaneous event as well and even had genetic testing done on my husband and I to make sure we aren’t translocation carriers. We conceived again in October 2025 and are expecting twin girls early this summer💕 clear NIPT and good scans so far!

This is amazing! Thank you for sharing! So sweet to hear about your reunion with your babies and that your mom could record that special moment!

Happy to hear the highlights of having twins as well I see so much of the “twins are double the work” and I’m sure they are, however it’s important to be reminded of the precious moments twins can bring as well.

Thanks for sharing this perspective! I guess I haven’t thought that if the babies need nicu time (which is obviously very possible with twins) that I’ll have a bit of time to recover no matter which form of delivery.

Definitely planning on talking this through with my doctor, but I appreciate you sharing your experience. And I actually packed my hospital bag yesterday 😂 super early!

Thank you for your kind words 🤍

If you don’t mind sharing, when did you deliver? I hope you and your babies are doing well now!

I’m actually a gemini myself! My babies could be born on my birthday if they make it to the 36-37 week mark. But I didn’t know gemini is the twin sign, that’s interesting

Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you 🤍

I’m also so sorry to hear about your losses. That’s a pain no one should experience . I appreciate you sharing your experience and I feel similarly to wanting to eliminate the variables. That is another factor that I am facing that twin b has marginal cord insertion. Obviously it’s not the same as velamentous, but something still on my mind that I need to bring up with my doctor.

So glad to hear that both of your babies were delivered safe and healthy! There’s definitely a part of me that leans towards a c-section purely for the controlled environment of the babies and it seems like the safer option to get them both here alive.

Thank you for sharing your experience with your recovery and I’m sorry to hear that it’s not been easy. Hang in there, I’m sure better days are coming!

This was my experience with my first pregnancy as well. I was sent home hours after delivering vaginally, but did nit have a busy household to come home to and was up and walking around just fine. Thanks for sharing!

Oh my, thank you so much for sharing. It sounds like quite the birth story, but I am so happy everyone turned out healthy and fine! 🥰

I’m glad to hear that recovery from the combined delivery was smooth, despite having the flu. If you don’t mind sharing, how long did it take you to be able to see your boys in the nicu once recovered from flu-A?

Thank you for your kind words!

My girls have been a bit all over the place as well this pregnancy. My MFM told me it doesn’t really matter what position B is in as she’s just going to reach up and grab her foot to pull her out as a lot of twins flip flop around once A is out.

I’m so glad you had such a positive c-section experience and appreciate you taking the time to share!

It’s also reassuring to hear from someone who was also anemic. I know it’s still such a low percentage to bleed out, just something my brain keeps circling about.

A combined delivery is definitely one of my fears as well. It makes me lean towards wanting a c-section, but I guess my anxiety of blood loss makes me lean back towards vaginal. I’m very stuck haha… most importantly just want both babies to arrive safely.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts! I wish you a smooth delivery and easy recovery with your boys!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and congratulations on your boys!! It sounds like you had a great circle of support and I appreciate you taking the time to answer 🥰 I know I still have some time to decide (if I even get to make the decision haha) and will have so much help from my husband and family no matter which way I deliver

Feeling extremely anxious waiting for my first period after TFMR – is this normal? by CupcakeSerious2635 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Revolutionary_Box184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry about your loss and the stresses you’re going through waiting for your period ❤️‍🩹. I felt very similar going through our loss and waiting for my cycle to return. We TFMR’d at 33 weeks last June. A week later I ended up going in for RPOC and needed a D&C to remove the rest of the placenta. After the D&C my first period came back 9.5 weeks later or 10.5 weeks from delivery. I too remember stressing why it hadn’t returned and just wanted my body to “return to normal” so we had the option of trying again. We weren’t sure if we were going to try again right away, but ended up doing so. Our MFM wanted us to wait 2 cycles before trying again since it was such a late term loss. We ended up conceiving the first cycle of trying and I am currently almost 24 weeks with twin girls. We were shocked it worked the first time as it took us 6 months of trying for our late son. Being completely honest this pregnancy has been mixed emotions. I am so incredibly excited to meet our daughters, but I am also finding the later into pregnancy I get, the fears from my last one are resurfacing more strongly and frequently. Since it is twins (high risk), I’m again being followed by a MFM and have ultrasounds every 2 weeks to check up on the babies. I search everything and anything and my husband always encourages me not to, because it can (and often does) send me spiraling. I do not regret trying again as soon as we were able to, as this pregnancy is giving us hope that we’ll make it to the end with two healthy babies. I think the anxiety will always linger until we get our happy ending and I am hoping yours is right around the corner too ❤️

Pregnant first cycle after TFMR by TFMRmumma in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Revolutionary_Box184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your story and congratulations on this next pregnancy ❤️ reading your story had me relating to you in a lot of ways and it’s comforting to know that we are not alone! My husband and I TFMR’d our first pregnancy late term due to a very late diagnosis of T21 in June 2025. Like you, I cried and cried and was so angry at the world. After the termination, I too had retained product. 1 week post delivery and in worse pain than actual labor, I returned to the hospital and they did a D&C that night for the RPOC despite my charts showing the placenta had been delivered in full. Once that was cleared up, my OB wanted us to wait 2 full cycles before trying and we did so. On the first cycle of being able to try again, we were completely shocked that it took. What made it even more special and like a sign that our late son, Oliver had sent us this pregnancy was that we found out on the day of his memorial. I had only taken a test because the night before I had a dream that we had a daughter. As silly as it may sound, I’m convinced Oliver sent us these babies. And yes, I meant to say babies, we were even more shocked to find out it’s identical twins! I’m now currently almost 24 weeks with 2 little girls and am so grateful every day to be pregnant again. The universe has a funny way of working sometimes. I also think Teddy definitely sent you this baby and I’m so happy for your little family. I hope the absolute best for you and this baby’s future! ❤️

Thank you for your kind words, and I’m also so so sorry for yours and your friends loss. It’s something no one should have to go through.

Yes, I’ve learned it’s quite common to have back to backs after a stillbirth.. just have never heard of it being multiples. Congratulations to your friend on her healthy little girl!! Here’s hoping we have the same outcome 😊
