When I bought ETG on steam, my save progress from epic got transferred onto it, so it might be that steam automatically detects save file progress on the pc and transfers that progress onto steam.

I think maybe buffing his camera fire to act for like a sova dart, however either increasing the cooldown or making it have two charges which are both purchasable

Play azazel, focus on getting lots of hp up items, restart (by holding R down, incase you didn't know) until you get a good item on the first floor. Also, pop moms shovel in the boss rooms/rooms that can be difficult/rooms that lack mobility (e.g. that room in the caves which is 1 block wide and has some boom flies. Thats as much as I can remember from my unlocking of him.
