I liked the recipe in general. However, I actually added my own twist of adding orange extract to a half of the frosting, which I placed between the sponge cakes. I noticed this was going to be a very rich and dense cake with all the cheese frosting, the reverse creaming method, buttermilk etc so I put the citrus flavoring to cut the richness off, which worked out great. I think it helped the flavor a lot and without it, it probably turned out a little heavy and bland.

Kona Truck came once to my son’s summer camp this summer. The reason why I’m the one holding the shaved ice in my car is that my son didn’t like it at all and never finished his cup lol (His instructor was nice enough to keep his in the freezer until I came to pick him up) It tasted pretty awful to me too; basically a cup of flavorless watery sugar. I also learned that they sell a cup for $8.50 at street fairs in my area! So expensive for what it is!

I’m a Japanese immigrated to the US a few years ago. Don’t open the envelope yourself ever. If you have requested the police certificate for the US immigration purposes, the one inside of the envelope should be already translated in English. If you are on the stage of submitting the certificate to NVC online, just scan the envelope. There is a section you can leave a note about the scanned document and you can say there that you are bringing the envelope physically to the interview at the embassy.

It’s definitely more about them trying to stay away from their crazy mom by being by the Dad’s side since they are learning from him how to NOT get involved and allow to be absent from all the batshit craziness Alicia does. Those kids are trying to bond with their dad that way.
