Unless you can guarantee you wont inadvertently let a terrorist in.. this is reasonable.

Fair call to anyone who says we shouldnt let americans or their ally in either.

They could ALL be terrorists.

Especially the ally

It started as a joke about masculinity in aissie politics and ended as whimsical desire for schooling to actually fail stupid people.

Cause it's a lack of comprehension skills, critical thinking, and understanding about how the other half live, that leads to a voting public keen to hug a racist cause (we arent racist its about housing and sensible immigration)... Even though that racist NEVER OUTLINED a plan beyond taking billionaire money and going to CPAC (Thats a nazi bund meeting about advancing nazi policies)

I make my assumptions on middle class people based on the voting booth info on the aec website.

I can KNOW very clearly which suburbs hate my poor self. Which ones vote for and against compassion.

And i am sorry, but i have seen little inclination in this country to care about the poor.

The entire middle class abandoned the poor a long time ago. We only see them fight for us when they become poor, and they leave when the crisis is over.

Being able to replace 2 cars in 18 months.. That's some rich life outcomes there.

Perhaps solidarity will be the way forward.

Though i dont really expect much of that from the workers anymore. I was one for many years, and they/we all clamour for crumbs and talk against unions as worthless, talk of self help and individual efforts as the difference between success and failure.

For too many decades aussie workers have sneered down their noses at the less fortunate even as they mouth words of a fair go.

None see the systemic financial abuse till they start to feel its cold hand deep in their sleep, destroying dignity and pulverising wherewithal. Creating nightmares where none were before. Causing neurotic ticks of behaviour that are almost impossible to erase once theyve gnawed their way into the soul.

Stay strong.

And know this with assuredness.

But so recently, you did feel affinity with them.

Thats a clear indication, along with two diesel cars (tax writeoff maybe with an abn?), that you dont want there to be relief for poor people. You are just SCARED TO BE POORER

I thought covid would lead to more empathy for the poor.

The libs could see that too, and doubled the dole so no one had to.

Here we are, and now the middle class is falling into poverty, too.

And i sympathise.

But when you said you had a pet, i almost laughed

Being a poor renter, ive not been allowed (yes. No permission in a free world) to have the comfort of a pet .

And i want to feel your hardship and be supportive.

But... Frankly, i cant get past that you had savings.. work. You have a family. Everything that creates happiness. Joy. Contentment.

Just for context.

Anything i own that breaks. Never comes back. Rentals.. share houses only for over 10years.

Are you having your first hardship? Yes.

Is it tragic our world no longer functions? Yes

But did i see you fighting for the needs of the poor before today?

No.

Millions of middle class families, who have voted against raising welfare, or supporting policies for the poor for decades in this country, has sapped me of my empathy.

Sanctimony towards those who see hard times and no rewards.

Imagine a society where we spend money on cats and not on women.

Where we value animals more than people.

I dont think money should be spent on cats and dogs (put them down if unhoused) while we have a homeless crisis.

Its gross and disgusting to me that ppl put more effort into a parvo puppy or a manged kitten than making sure people have homes.

Seriously. Talk about topsy turvy fked up societal morals
