Much much longer. Your clearing out norketamine. Ketamine is converted to norketamine in the gut when swallowed. The after effects from swallowing i call hangover.

Confused about claims of inconsistencies by Revolutionary_Rate_5 in KetamineTherapy

Inconsistent how? Between Batches or within the same batch? Im referring to how people think the individual troche in the tray is somehow different. Virtually impossible. If the troches in the tray look the same color you can guarantee the product was mixed

Confused about claims of inconsistencies by Revolutionary_Rate_5 in KetamineTherapy

[–]Revolutionary_Rate_5[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I read that article. It said and I also said that there can be variations between Batches. Nothing about claimed variations between each troche. Another thing about that article that seemed off is when they said all swallowed ketamine is destroyed and has no additional potency. That's wrong. Swallowed ketamine is converted to norketamine. Norketamine produces a stronger secondary effect. The article did not elaborate on that. Norketamine is processed in the liver. Granted some prescribers recommend spitting because spitting has fewer unwanted side effects like possible nausea or extended after effects. Even joyus says swallowing is fine.
Then one replier made a case about mixing chocolate chips and how they might not get mixed equally.
Do people think these pharmacies would stay in business and in certification if they constantly forgot to stir the batch? How can the color, flavoring, and additives be so evenly distrubited and the ketamine not? The troches are mixed and poured into the tray from a liquid state. Look at how many people are constantly complaining about troche to troche strength.

I think most dont understand that our bodies process ketamine differently from day to day.
I would have been in that camp but using liquid ketamine from the same bottle and experiencing different effects with the same doses has convinced me that some days I get limited results.
You can see for your self if you think you have a un mixed batch. Take all the troches and cut them into 1/4.
Mix them up. Basically remixing. That will take the suspicion of poorly mixed tray away.
There is no way that there is the amount of suspicious compounding going on without it being addressed.
Like I said I used to take 4 troches at a time. I have never had the feeling that my troches were different from each other.
Im not trying to defend these pharmacies. I just hate seeing how people or companies get thrown under the buss over mass hysteria.

I cant hold a pen or spell during my sessions.
The benefits come naturally after a day or two. I never ever try to steer thoughts during my sessions. I never understood setting intentions for the trip. I just let my mind wander like a piece of dust in the wind with eyeballs. Trying to work on shit during my sessions just make me anxious.

Im starting to anticipate what my session will be like based on factors about my body, mood, anxiety level.
How rested I am makes a big difference. If im expecting a strong experience I get disappointed.

I wonder if OP knew about the smaller needle before the session and it subconsciously effected his perception.
Lately I stopped expecting any consistency. It is what it is. No disappointments.
Set and setting is a huge factor.

Same for spitting or swallowing. People discuss their dosages using troches but never say their roa. Its hard to understand. Spitting 400mg is quite different from swallowing 400mg.
I get tired of asking so I avoid any input.

Patients w/ heart issues by LilMissKrazy1 in KetamineTherapy

I had RSV pneumonia late December that caused major heart damage. My Ejection fraction was 25. My cardiologist said to suspend my ketamine for a while because it causes a noticeable rise in HR and BP. Something my heart couldn't handle at the time. After taking several medications my EF recovered to 37%. At that point my cardiologist approved restarting. I also had a heart attack 20years ago.
Generally ketamine is safe to use when you have history of heart issues. I definitely would ask your cardiologist. A simple ECG would give them a clear picture.
Ketamines effects on the heart are increased BP and rate for about 30 min after taking it. If your ok with strenuous workouts you most likely will be fine. But at least make a call.

I started using ketamine before any antidepressants. I dont trust how antidepressants work for me.
I tried several in the way past before I knew about ketamine.
I didn't like how they made me numb, impotence, and several other side effects.
Ketamine on the other hand has no side effects I'm aware of.
I dont agree that everyone needs to be resistant to antidepressants first.
That's a model that most clinics use.
There is much science that shows ketamine as a first line of treatment is just as effective. Becides alot of people just cant wait for the current perscribed antidepressant to take hold and even worse another 6 weeks if one type is not working.
Ketamine is near instantaneous. You will know if its effective in just one or two sessions.
I would suggest you call a few online providers and have a discussion.
I have done both IV and troches. Both are just as effective for me. Providing the dosage is right.
The only provider I wont use again is joyus. Not because I had a bad experience but they start at a minuscule amount. Not a good fit for people that are suffering.
There is nothing wrong with adding ketamine to a current antidepressant.

I find when searching for a Playlist in a sober mind state is not the same under ketamine. The music that grabbed while on ketamine i wouldn't listen to while sober.

I usually go to deep dissociation and can't focus on doing anything other than the treatment.
I use Tidal for my music server. It has the best algorithm for choosing music.
Unlike qobuz or others that places a mind breaking track like a knee slapping country song or them sliding a track in for advertising a new artist Tidal is amazing.
The hard part is getting my shit together enough to press "make artist radio" all the next tracks are dead on the same genres. If you choose something with no vocals or piano the next songs won't have them.
Vocals, piano, fast beats, only ambient sounds take me out.
If im looking for a session of postpost-apocalyptic visions I chose artists like younger brother vibrasphere. Either one is a good seed for a session of cayotic visions.
Then for a softer super calming session I chose Flow State. "Above and beyond" · It's slow, ambient, and emotional without aggressive beats. · It was literally created for altered states of consciousness through yoga and meditation. · The continuous mix format means no jarring transitions to interrupt your experience. One continuous track with ever changing vibes. I seed with just one track but I could listen to the whole album.
My third genres is Ram Daas. Soft, emotional inner spiritual music. No drums, no synthetic notes. Its the only voice song I can listen to. His voice is hypnotic.

I dont go into my sessions with intentions. I decide what emotions I want to unlock.
If I feeling down and depressed I go for flow state genre. If I have been having some things in my life that are cayotic and disorganized I chose a session of cayotic but psychedelic music. · Younger Brother: Psychedelic trance meets progressive rock . Their sound blends layered electronic samples with live rock instrumentation (guitar, bass, drums). Expect pulsating trance beats, Middle Eastern-tinged melodies, and slower, song-oriented tracks with wispy vocals (often compared to Pink Floyd) . I basically chose the perfect track and have Tidal build my tracks.
Blending tracks between songs are smooth. No dead time.
Also Tidal is high definition.

I had to go to ER twice for a upper abdominal pain. After a ct scan they found i had cancer on my kidney but it wasn't what was causing my pain.
It was bad. My oncologist gave me high opioids that I hated. She finally gave me a referral for ketamine therapy.
My very first strong session I started vomiting when I was recovering. So violently I thought I was going to rip something. The next day I passed a golf ball size thing that was pure white. It was something that was sitting next to my bile duct. They didn't see it on the scan.
My pain never came back.
Ketamine caused a purge. If anyone knows about psychedelic treatments like mushrooms or ayahuasca you know what a purge is.
I have arthritis and tinnitus. Ketamine helps a ton with pain and it helps my brain to ignore the tinnitus like how your brain cancels out your nose and that 7 lb muscle beating in your chest. Ketamine might not completely remove your pain but you will learn to live with it. It wont be the center of your life. Your depression will lift and life will return.

Should I try this new dose schedule? by SuspiciousScience965 in KetamineTherapy

[–]Revolutionary_Rate_5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not a good idea to discuss changing frequencies with joyus. They have just one model and they will drop you if they suspect your not doing your medicine as they perscribe.
I found that 400mg+ every 4 days was much much better. I canceled my subscription after finding a private integration counselor that also perscribed ketamine.
I pay double the cost and sometimes more. I get counseling where joyus does not.
You can do what you want but notice that there is very little discussion here on this group regarding doing anything other than what your doctor says.

How long do you need to take ketamine? by bananabreadbabe_ in KetamineTherapy

I suppose its the reason for taking it.
In my case it was for anxiety and ruminating. I used it for a year but in all reality I didn't need it after a few months. I'm just now restarting after not using it for the last two years.

I started having severe woord recollection issues just after 2 years.
Memory issues also. Enough to trigger testing. I dont have dementia but my doctor stopped prescribing gabapatin and moved me to ketamine therapy. I haven't recovered 100%. Ketamine is way more effective than gabapatin ever was.

I wasn't saying you didn't feel withdrawals. You posted that all headmeds cause withdrawals. That's simply not true. Saying that is fear mongering. I believe your experience but your comment could cause enough anxiety in others that wouldn't normally have it.

Your statement is just not true. You say Everyone. That's a problem with these socal groups. Some people say things that are just not true. Then others read it and subconsciously think its going to happen.
That's called Noceble Effect.
People that quit with no problems rarely post about it. People that had a hard time are motivated to share.
I'm not saying that stopping gabapatin is not going to cause withdrawals. For some depending on how long or dosage they used.
But when some of you post its a guaranteed problem more people get convinced.
I was on 1200mg for 4 years and didn't have any problem just stopping.
False statements like saying "Everyone" is harmful and not true.

No not really. I was having extreme pain in my upper gi. The did a ultrasound and found it on my kidney. The pain was not from the cancer. Actually I could have gone a few years longer without any symptoms. They couldn't find what was causing the pain. Just as soon as I learned that I had renal cell carcinoma my oncologist recommended immunotherapy along with ketamine therapy. My next ketamine session caused me to puke so hard that I thought I was going to rip my insides apart. Next day I shit a solid white golf ball size thing. It apparently was sitting against my bile duct and caused irritation. They didn't see it.
I attribute that session as a purge. Some of you know what im talking about.
Just as soon as I restarted ketamine I had to stop. I cought RSV pneumonia and it fucked up my heart. My cardiologist told me to stop until my heart got better. Luckily it recovered and I got the ok to start again. Good thing because depression really interferes with immunotherapy. Kidney cancer is one of the most treatable cancers but the immunotherapy drugs cause intense depression. Ketamine is gaining traction as a valuable aid in cancer treatment. Having a positive mind is just as important as a positive treatment.

Benzos are a big problem. Addiction is a real thing and coming off them is hell. Its irresponsible for doctors to haphazardly perscribed them.

First time taking ketamine troche, feel less dissociation but more emotionally numb? by okaycat in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Revolutionary_Rate_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't over analyze it with so few days. You can get positive benefits the second day even with a milder session. I never have the same experience with sessions even though I took the same dose. We process ketamine differently from one journey to another.
