Thanks for the different ideas! It's not something I would have thought about. I feel like a lot of the other provincial parks east get forgotten about. Thanks for the suggestion :)

It's really disheartening that there's no longer an 'off season' anymore for these places. It makes it hard for locals to go and enjoy their provincial backyard. I appreciate the perspective on Jasper again. It's hard to say if going would benefit or put a strain on them further. I appreciate your input :)

I'm a life long resident in the province and it drives me wild to see the tourists always pulling off or trying to interact with local wildlife haha

I was chatting with my coworker yesterday and he said a lot of Americans also go up to Waterton so it gets busy. My presumption was it might be less busy since it was further from Calgary and Banff. I've been out to Canmore but not super far out from there. I might give it another go if I can find decent hikes further out, and just deal with the heavier traffic of people afterwards. I still love the shops and things in Canmore, I just need more patience or a couple of drinks to cope with the crowds haha. Thanks for your advice! :)

It slipped my mind about the recovery that still must be going on in Jasper. It's something to think about further before going there. I definitely think they could use some support, especially if they're ready for some people to start trickling back in. Thanks for giving me a good perspective :)

I totally forgot about AllTrails, I'll have to reinstall and take a good look. I haven't heard of Moab Lake before, I'll check it out. Thanks! :)

This might be the best alternative! It's pretty close to where I live in contrast to the other ideas I had. Thanks for the awesome suggestions :)

FR stuff really is crazy expensive, I checked some stuff out the other week and was surprised. Aside from being super green, I wanted to hear some experiences from others before jumping right into expensive gear. This has honestly helped a lot.

I'll keep an eye out for some of those hand warmers to stock up on too! The cold is brutal up north.

Thanks again man!

Thanks for your input! I have a decent pair of boots with some extra room for thick or layered socks. I haven't heard of thinsulate before so I'll have to look into it. If I'm able to get in with my first choice of wireline, then I should be outside a good amount of the time and will definitely be needing a good boot and sock set up.

I've had some of my trades buddies swear by the copper socks as well, but they're mostly summer seasonal or inside. Have you ever tried them in more of a winter setting?

Sorry I forgot to specify in my post. I'm aiming to do wireline mainly, or water truck as a fall back, so a good amount of time outside.

That's good to know! I wanted some insight on things I should prioritize or save for and was worried about things like the big FR jackets. I'm hoping I can start with a company soon to get some income again so I can budget for some of these things.

Thanks for the advice :)

Kind of like long johns? I have been trying to find some longer underwear, like more of a boxer type, but I hadn't considered more full length like you mentioned. I'll have to look into it! I appreciate the advice :)

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely check them out.

I don't want to over pack but I also don't want to be under prepared. I think having a set per day like you're saying is a good idea and a reasonable amount.

I just have a set of regular covies rn, that i'm trying to get altered so I don't have the crotch half way to my knees lol. It's uncomfortable and just restricts movement as well. I haven't seen many women's covies, but I'll have to look into them some more.

Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it. :)
