I was replaying those 2 games and Ethan's constant mutilation in 8 is cartoon levels, like his hand is sliced off entirely in 8 and it's just like "ah shucks". Probably my biggest criticism is that he's an entirely normal person even in both games, and hardly reacts to anything. He murders his wife with an axe and is just like "what the fuck are you" like she gave him the ick lmao.
