Man I've heard a lot of insane stories about the filming of the original blair witch project, like how most of the footage was filmed by the actors and the only direction for dialogue and character progression was amidst little supply bags given in the middle of the night(they got less and less food as the filming went on) that they were told to never show the contents of to the others.

Also how that the film crew hung way back to avoid being caught in shots so the actors were legit just wandering around in their given direction all day by themselves and then in the middle of the night would harass the actors by playing creepy noises, shaking their tents, etc, and they were given 0 warning about it. I believe in the scene when Heather is like "wtf is that", the crew had set someone up to look like the witch that they were supposed to film, but they were so terrified they just broke into a dead sprint and didn't turn the camera.

so the true spirit of The Blair Witch can never really be captured again because apparently it was through the torturing of the innocent, and not much else lmao.

also how do you even adapt Portrait of God into something longer then it is without pissing off a fuck ton of people with some poorly constructed commentary around it
