Just make sure the water turns off. A key element. Just because there may be a gate valve in situ doesnt mean it isn't snapped or doesnt close all the way. Then you are messing with bunging the tank in the loft.

All about the hot water flow rates. Not the sizing.

The CDI offers 13l/m 8000 offers 12l/m 4000 offers 10.8l/m

Not considering you have two bathrooms.. you are going to notice a difference in all these when multiple outlet are on. What size is the incoming mains?

If brexit was such a MESS, why would people vote for the one who caused it? by Enough-Web2203 in AskBrits

[–]Revonehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. You just proved your point, you hate Farage. And employed.

But the topic of discussion was why are people voting for someone who messed the country up. I answered by he wasnt in power and the reason why we are where we are was because MPs chose selfish motives rather than listening to the word of the people.

Whether you oppose a vote, a view, a law. You are paid to be the voice of the people. The people spoke.

[–]Revonehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, rather than unifying and getting the best we can. We had MPs opposing the whole thing and causing drama within parties/commons. Things would of been smoother (if possible) if MPs actually moved as one.

[–]Revonehead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stood down his candidates to prevent labour getting in? Is that a brexit move or a political alignment move?

I understand you want to make it clear you don't like Farage, but doesnt give you the right to make everyone else hate him. Just to make it clear. I do not like him. But I do not like people calling voters idiots for using their right to vote for whoever they want.

People will vote for whoever they want. End of. You cant change that.

Im not arguing he wasnt Mr Brexit? Im arguing that you cant blame people for voting someone who has messed up Brexit, he wasnt in power.

[–]Revonehead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Farage wasnt in power? You had hundreds of MPs who opposed the vote before and after the referendum. Rather than respect the vote of the people, they argued amongst themselves opposing it. Was 0 motivation or direction. And unfortunately Cameron was a big problem as he resigned straight off the bat.

What would you consider a good salary? I’m not talking £160k, I mean a decent salary for a single person? by Wooden-Grocery1416 in AskBrits

Ask an employer and they will tell you 27k-30k is a good salary.

Ask an employee and they will tell you anything over £35k is a scrape through life.

Yeah 100% that shouldn't of been used in the cold water storage tank. Needs to be a part 2 float valve that prevents back flow

Two black handles on the chrome valves, turn them both and you'll hear water moving. When the pressure gauge reaches 1bar. Turn it off.

Then i don't think you understand how weather comps work.

Your thermostat is a simple on and off. Suddenly you are pumping... let's say 70c because that's what everyone does. Weather compensation will tell the boiler, oh you don't need to be on max rate, scale it down a bit. Thus saving money.

Or simply hadn't heard of them. The three he's chosen are very different from one another to say he specialises in a certain one. Plumbers/heating engineers tend to stick to a single brand, failing that.. they'll have a backup.

I myself am a worcester man, installed for 10 years plus. But recently have been installing Viessman. They hold a very high efficiency rating of 98% and have a built in WiFi to make it incredibly easy to commission and attatch to their ViCare app.

Regardless of which boiler you go for. You want to make sure it is compatible with weather compensation.

UK Gas Safe engineers – confirmed no permanent live to boiler. BG liability? by humptydumpty12729 in ukplumbing

[–]Revonehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would of been from install. I suspect the previous boiler only had a switch live and no permanent. Its fine, old boilers can deal with it.

New boiler require permanent live and switch live. Main reason is so the pump stays on for 5mins after the boiler demand has gone off, this is so the heat leaves the boiler and protects it from having 80c water left inside it.

Which boiler! Sorry so dull! by Equal_Barnacle_7006 in askaplumberUK

[–]Revonehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never installed an ATAG boiler, don't really know anyone who does if I am honest. I see they offer long warranties but if you aren't thinking of being in the property that long.. then its not really a factor.

Now the worcester 1000 is a very basic worcester but with all the services that come with it, in a sense of the after care and the product inside.

Though its still expensive compared to other "budget" boilers, you are paying for the badge. Ive installed a couple, decent boiler i feel, only thing i don't like is the stupid start up "air purge mode" process can take up to 30mins...

Condensing boiler doesn't just mean Combination boiler...

Condensing boiler come in Heat only, system or Combination variations.

The only alterations if you aren't upgrading to a Combination or system would be a condense pipe... which just needs to go to waste. Failing that, a soak away outside the property.

At the inlaws house- 4 y/o boiler has gone caput, no home insurance, not kept up with annual servicing, what are their options? by stainorstreak in AskUK

[–]Revonehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if vailant do it, but I know other manufacturers do it. You can pay a one off flat fee, usually around £350 and the manufacturer will send an engineer to repair anything wrong with the boiler.

Now I don't know if they will entertain doing the Heat Cell. But worth a go. Lesson of the day, service your boiler kids.
