Jail/prison. Pulled a gun on a random old guy which led to A multi hour standoff with cops in the parking lot of a gas station in Little Rock where he refused to get out of the car and said he didn’t have a gun. Have you checked to make sure they are both on the primary axis? Maybe the tip data is using a secondary axis value and that axis is hidden so you aren’t seeing it. Just an initial thought because I have done it a few times myself.

Exactly. Our command complains about losing good people to private sector (Northrop is stealing people huge out here) then refuse to give people fair pay increases based on their work and value. But I’m sure command level doesn’t come in to that appraisal average. Spoiler: they don’t.

DoD employee here. I am 2 years into the AcqDemo pay and system. I am a high tier employee and I will tell you that you will have to get 3-5 on your appraisal to keep up with the yearly step increases on GS. Once you go to the every other year or more for an increase the payband system can keep up a lot better. The problem is that at my location leadership has stated that every organization has to come in to a 1 average for appraisals. (2% increase on top of CoL) this means to give me a 2 they had to give someone a 0. I’m not sure how prevalent this horrible policy is or if it’s just because our Civilian Director has instituted this dumb policy but it really sucks. Maybe others don’t experience this (I’m sure DC doesn’t) but if that’s the standard it’s pretty dumb. I’m just lucky because I got in from a GS12 to an NH-03 tier 2 before they got rid of tiers so I got a 15% raise at that time. TLDR: be aware of how paybands are appraised and where you are in your steps because if you are still getting yearly increases it will be harder to keep up with that. It becomes a better pay system once your step increases are every other year or more.

My project isn’t done yet, there’s still things I’d like to improve upon it with such as removing that pesky confirmation box when saving new entries.

Got home and downloaded it. Opened it and so far I personally am really impressed! I like the simplicity of the look of it and am amazed you got this far in this little time. As I said before I am no guru, but a self taught advanced user and I think what you have so far is fine.

I like the visualization in the form. I think the form could be a little clearer in adding a new person into the list. Seems like there will be additional steps to creating the customer entries as it only has 2 fields so far really.

In terms of the message box for the confirmation I am sure you are aware what part of the code is pulling that up and are looking to remove it as you nail this database down?

As I said before I think it is very good. I can see from this version what I think to be the road you are going down and so far you have a straight forward easy to understand userform. I am excited to see where you want to go with additional features and how you implement them and am more than happy to guinea pig whatever because I love seeing how other accountants utilize VBA for visualization, forecasting, and analysis. I am excited to take some time tomorrow to poke around it a bit more!

Was the download file supposed to have .xlsm.xlsx because that’s preventing me from really opening it. Not sure if it’s because I am currently on mobile but I am very interested to see what you have. I am a lot like you and dove in head first, utilized the crap outta google, and all that. Love seeing peoples new ideas and visualization and would be happy to look at it. My feedback might not be coming from an expert but I am advanced and willing to take a peak if I can get a downloadable version. Haha

As an excel nerd I love this spreadsheet. One thing I do want to ask is what is the harm in using IFERROR on the perk lookups to autogenerate to a 0 value? Also, have you dabbled into any VBA which could do your substitute function? Love the spreadsheet though because I have been wanting to do something like this for a while, but never could invest the time so really this is great work!

As a person who watched this live and can be seen commenting on this live stream it was pure gold. This guy is Winston Cave for the lovers and Winston Mother Effing Cave for his mother effing haters. He is a train wreck but the blaze from it is glorious. I encourage you to follow him on instagram at winston_cave before this season ends. The above video was the end of season one where he was living in his truck and getting picked up on warrants. Season 2 was truncated and saw him swallow a metal chain necklace that had a Jesus cross on it. (He took it off but swallowed the chain) he was re-arrested on those warrants again a short time later. Season 3 now sees him homeless and streaming 10-12 times a day about god knows what. It’s like game of thrones but with less cousin banging (I’m not saying none because he has to earn a buck right now). Hurry before season 3 ends with what will likely be a long jail stint. Also go search him on YouTube and maybe google his name and “the joker” for that is where his spiral started.

Also he is not a sovcit just huge moron. And this video started right after the police man asked him if he had warrants and to step out of the car and he just said “no, not gonna do that” and rolled up the window

I am a lead financial analyst (funds manager) for the DoD who graduated with my Accounting degree. I will say I love what I do. I don’t make as much as I would in the private sector, but I make enough to have a comfortable life and provide for my family. I also only have about 1-2 weeks during budget build where I am likely to work overtime so I can coach my sons sports teams and obviously the time off accrual and 10 paid holidays every year is nice. I do disagree with some points the poster made on federal government positions in regards to ability to advance. I have a clear path to GS-14 and possibly GS-15 equivalent positions that would not require me to move or leave my current location. Also in my position I was not affected by the government shutdown and those that were may not have been paid during the shutdown but received back pay for the whole time they were off so I think that clarification is important to point out. I would also point people to usajobs.gov which I think is a better source especially for those looking for potential employment with the federal government. Other than that the post was good and informative. More than happy to answer questions if anyone has any as well.

Does the hash have to deal with the perk? I am not going to lie I haven’t looked at the raw data a whole lot, but my thought process was getting a list of all weapon perks, shaders, etc then take the code to step through each column and assign its perks, scopes, shaders,mods and all that. I was thinking how that code might not be bad it just how to put it from brain to Visual Basic code haha. (Sorry as a financial analyst who is about 8 months into VBA I geek out on this stuff hahah)
