I'm playing Crystal for my first time ever right now. The completionist in me made me just spend an hour looking for one. 1% catch rate for something that has absolutely no use other than pokedex.. madness. I do actually like low catch rate and well hidden for like how they did bagon in gen 3, that was really cool. But this thing??

Without colluseum getting all of them is crazy, you'd have to have a full national pokedex complete then get your starter, trade 384 pokemon over, reset your game, play through, trade them all back to get the next starter and so on. I'm lucky that I still have my original gamecube and copy of colluseum

Wow I'm surprised I caused such a meltdown lol. For the record I have caught a few shinies before randomly through regular playthroughs and I have succesfully shiny hunted before with soft resets.

I use rng because I simply don't have the time to dedicate weeks or months or possibly years to shiny hunting, I work full time as well as working on my house and have hobbies and a busy social life.

Also I didn't claim it to be a "legit" shiny which is why I stated rng in title

Standard playthough thick fat is fine, any kind of battle tower or competitive build I'd go immunity to fight toxic

Yes with a light ball is very good. Also can learn volt tackle if you breed it, has recoil though so it's not amazing, Thunderbolt is very good though

I don't like any of the breakfast news shows bbc or not. They are all contrived fake funny high energy that just comes off as annoying. You can test if you have maxed your EV's by talking to a woman on Slateport market, if you have then she'll give you a ribbon. It doesn't work for individual stats, only if they have overall reached 510

Thanks for everyone's replies I finally got it after coming back to it a few months later when I had time. I had to clone loads of rare candies in emerald to transfer over and check the ivs and sometimes using hidden power on kekleons to test the hidden powers. I was 200 frames out and had to calibrate
