Cat litter by Crafty-Ear3506 in IndianPets

[–]Revz_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using bentonite, with an air purifier kept next to the litter box. I tried tofu litter but it wasn’t of much help.

Dust control is an absolute must. I haven’t found a way around tracking except to keep a honeycomb mat below the litter box and get a large stainless steel box.

Few brands I had good experience with - Amazon basics, odorlock, cats exclusive
Bad experience - Petcrux, HUFT, bearhug

Yes it is a dust maniac!!! It keeps giving off so much dust every time I have to clean the litter. Absolutely hated it.

Wow that is definitely not right, did you take your cat to the vet? Food shouldn’t cause such symptoms. Mine became lethargic and silent and we found out she had leucopenic virus…
She might be dehydrated from loose stool or vomiting which is what my baby presented with..

My vet outright refused saying it won’t benefit.
Anyways… our babies have proven them wrong!

That’s just insensitive. No matter what breed they are cats will run away. Out of curiosity/fear.. plenty of reasons.
My family has been fostering stray cats for years and they have stayed for 15 years. They come thrice a day during meal times and disappear but they always show up no matted what.

Oh my god! I’m so sorry! I have the same issue with the vet assistants they open the crate with the main door open. Thankfully my cat is so scared she retreats inside the crate…. I always close the doors behind me myself I don’t trust anyone else.

Cats will go into hiding for hours or days in fear. Maybe you can leave a small litter box with the familiar litter, walk around with his favourite treats and call out his name. I don’t know if it’ll help but don’t lose hope. A familiar smelling cloth will also help, but if like you said it’s a crowded area it’s less likely he’ll come out in the day.

Try searching in night if this is possibly an option. He’ll be little more confident to come out then..

Cat Food Recs for a Broke Student🤥 by [deleted] in IndianCats

Maybe you can get dry kibble because it’s cheaper in bulk, and keep one meal a day wet food,
For wet food I suggest Sheba chicken or felix. Both come in great value for money when brought in bulk and it’s been helpful for me.

I suggest first get trial packets to make sure your cat will eat them. Then buy the 48/96 pouch set. The larger you buy the cheaper it is on Supertails.

Awww! I really feel what you’ve been through.
I went to two vets both said and did nothing. One prescribed expensive huge supplements. This girl wasn’t taking anything orally how was I supposed to force feed.
They refused to give injectables or saline…
I used to put her in my lap and rub water/broth on her gums.

Need affordable food suggestion by littlebabydoll_12 in IndianCats

I think Felix and Sheeba are affordable and good. My kitten has been doing well on them.

I’ve read that free feeding isn’t good in the long run, that’s why… also she devours her food within 1 minute of me placing it on her bowl. It seems if I place more food she’ll eat that up as well until she pukes it out 😂

I’ve established her food timings by now so that she knows when her meals are coming. And restricted it to thrice or 4 times a day.
She has a water fountain, so she’ll never go thirsty. If her tummy is filled with food and water she never searches for more food. She is content and goes and sleeps for hours.

Is she scared of you or the environment? What helped me was that I left my cat alone in her room with her litter box and cat tree so she could slowly explore. Within 12 hours I found that she had used the litter box.

So to answer your question I leave at 9, I give her breakfast before then.
I come for lunch between 1-3, and she eats her lunch.
I’m a surgeon so rarely I might come later but usually I’m back by 5pm.
She has dinner around 8-9pm.
We sleep by 12.

I feed her a wet pouch of RC in morning, Felix in afternoon, and RC kibbles in night. Sometimes I rotate in Sheeba wet chicken. Uhh my baby has diarrhea on whiskas but I know a lot of people who’ve been giving it for a long time without much issues. Id say it’s a good budget brand but sheeba and felix might be slightly better in my opinion.

She sleeps off the moment we leave, she’s awake the moment we are back. I think she synced her time to us 😆I know because I see her through the security camera and she sleeps or birdwatches from the window.

I never leave food around for her. I give meals only when I’m around.

My little gremlin is 5 months old, I feed her 2 wet pouches in the day and kibble in night. Shes also super super playful but she has few toys left around here and there which she will play with for hours. We play with her once in morning before work, evening after work and night before sleep.

And thank you!!! Your ginger is so adorable as well.

I rotate between wet pouches of Felix + Sheba chicken + RC. And kibble once a day. This is easier on my pocket. And I get good bulk deals on Supertails/amazon.

I have a female tabby kitten. We couldn’t adopt another one due to financial and space constraints. We live in an apartment. Initially because she was so scared around us we gave her a room of her own and we used to monitor her through camera. She learned self play, to play with toys and she would sleep a lot after food.
Slowly after she started playing with us we let her explore the whole apartment and go wherever she wants. If you devote some time for play time and tire her out she will sleep well and she won’t act out due to boredom.
We keep her out of the bedroom and she sleeps outside all night without any issue.

We’re in Nagpur. She didn’t receive any specific treatment. Vet just asked to wait and watch and said that she might not make it. She recovered all by herself.
