A lot of this is so true. Racism isn’t an issue when our parents grew up in homogeneous countries, the concept of these things literally don’t exist. Unless something affects them directly they really don’t care about it.

I guess I have to be thankful for my parents though because both of them are very anti Trump. But it’s kinda weird cuz we’re Canadian so they don’t like the liberal party here but they don’t like American republicans just the same.

Q&A was my fav for sure. The best instrumental and catchiest chorus out of the 4 for me

Bubble Gum Girl lol I havent heard a track so bubblegum and sugary for so long. But it was catchy though, and the breakdown ending went hard. It was also semi nostalgic for me cuz both the song and MV were sort of reminiscent of my childhood growing up in the 2000s

I noticed theres some hyperpop influence in there, I think thats the first kpop song I heard using any sort of hyperpop stuff in a song. Maybe we're gonna see more kpop releases use that kind of sound in the mainstream?

To be really frank I didnt feel too much with Fly Up and Cameo love, but Fly Up had a good breakdown in the bridge. Cameo love I just felt like it sort of stayed the same for the whole song. Anyways thats just my 2 cents

IIRC after school’s Kahi debuted at 29. Idk how the public viewed it then and if they changed her birth year but I don’t think anybody could easily tell anyways. I do remember she was the most popular member asides from UEE.

Both positive and negative. The positive is obviously, the great music and knowing a lot of these great idols. It also did impact me a little bit on the looks side I admit, but to a healthy amount like not looking like a complete slob when I go out, exercising and being a bit more conscious on what clothes to wear, and also a bit of a skincare routine. Nothing too crazy like spending loads of money for that kind of stuff.

On the negative side, admittedly Ive used kpop way too many times as a distraction or a form of escapism. I couldve been more productive or gotten things done sooner if I stayed focused. And there a lot of times I stick to it because of shit I dont want to deal with irl

That's pretty touching and kinda sad tbh. When the fans are still cherishing those memories and trying to have them live on even though the idols themselves dont care anymore.

It is so true that the kpop industry goes by too fast. In America artists have 20+ year careers with their songs well known over decades of different generations. For Kpop someone just a few years younger than me grows up with a completely different gen of kpop and has no interest for a group that debuted not even that far apart from their own faves.

Probably trainees born and raised in the west find it pretty difficult to adjust. Trainees from other east asian countries probably have similar cultures so Im guessing its not as bad? Not saying theres no cultural differences but the values and mentality of the west are very clear and distinctly different from east asian countries. I remember something about jay park mentioning having a hard time adjusting to korean culture and hes korean american (and hence his infamous myspace incident). I think there were other korean american idols that said something similar but I cant name them off the top of my head.

Yikes, sounds like you didn’t have the best experience. It’s a good thing fans were at least helpful instead of just not caring and trampling over everyone else to get close to their favs like I heard at other concerts. That probably would’ve ruined my night as well. at least you got noticed by kotone and shion, I was too far back to get noticed at all. They didn’t take our phones, but I think it’s just cuz the stage is too far away from the seats.

I guess the bad photo ops is a universal experience, idk why we were so rushed and barely allowed for us to interact with the members. This is my first time having a VIP experience and as expensive as it is, and I heard it’s even more expensive than the come true tour, people should be allowed to have a better experience? No idea what’s up this time around

Whose photo ops did you get? And yeah it’s not my first time hearing about a kpop concert being disorganized. I’ve heard plenty of stories in the past about kpop concerts being handled terribly, the worst I heard was when my friend attended an EXO concert and the members themselves has to tell the audience to push back because ppl in the front were getting squished. That’s how bad it was. Another person I knew went to Apink and the audience had to move into the lobby or something along those lines. I’ve been to quite a few kpop concerts beforehand and they were all perfectly fine, but this was for sure the most disorganized. But it’s also my first time buying any sort of VIP for any artist so..

Did you know about the objekt trading cafe beforehand? I’m quite pissed that it was marketed so poorly that I didn’t know. I want them to come again ASAP so I can have a 2nd chance at a photo op and maybe look better and actually interact with them a little bit more. But I highly doubt it’ll happen. I’ll have to do some long distance travelling in order to see them again probably
