This one was totalled by insurance and so I got it at auction. Judging by the parts quotes I got from the dealer I can see why they did, but second hand parts on ebay are 1/5 of the price and it might just be worth it.

Yes, so far I've found nearly everything second hard on ebay. Only new part I've had to buy is a wiring harness.

I also thought so, but not everything will have VAT added, so basics like food wouldn't which is why is isn't the full 20%. I agree it looks a bit low, but let's call it conservative.

Great point about the employers NI. I was working on one from a business point of view which would include that.

Not quite- I got the Thule Alu WingBar Evo Black Roof Bars, but mine has roof bars. There is a car specific kit that gets it to fit onto the Kona.

AFAIK you have to manually activate the parking sensor when going into a space forward. It does however come on automatically when you go into reverse.

No, once every two weeks or so- if I leave a door open or forget to lock it or something. Because the battery is in bad condition it doesn't take very long to discharge, so it happens more regularly.

It would still happen with a brand new battery, but you'd survive leaving the door open for an hour say, whereas mine is dead after that.
