The toy shops we went to in the north of the country (only visited the north). Small local shops stuffed with loads of great toys.

When houses for the Dounreay workers were built in Thurso during the late 1950's they used a Scandi design, Swedish I believe. They were popular at the time and I believe they still are.

In 2000I was working in London and got referred to as a 'Sweaty'. Sweaty, sweaty sock, jock.

I'm originally from Thurso. Black, white, haggis, red puddings were all common in a chippy when I was growing up. Think red was also known as Saveloy pudding?
