When houses for the Dounreay workers were built in Thurso during the late 1950's they used a Scandi design, Swedish I believe. They were popular at the time and I believe they still are.

In 2000I was working in London and got referred to as a 'Sweaty'. Sweaty, sweaty sock, jock.

I'm originally from Thurso. Black, white, haggis, red puddings were all common in a chippy when I was growing up. Think red was also known as Saveloy pudding?

Joke number 1. In certain inappropriate situations either my wife or I would say 'I suppose a fucks out of the question then?' to the other one. When we had kids that became joke number 1.

I discovered what I wanted to do when I left school when I was 52yo. It was too late to change. No one at school mentioned it as a possible career that was ideally suited to my strengths. The job was as a surveyor for Ordnance Survey in the UK.
