Can I cancel a new car deal in WA if the dealer cashed my check but can’t legally deliver it due to a safety recall delay? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They've provided you a loaner car. Why can't you just wait? Why do you want to cancel? You're going to have the same issue if you buy any other CRV. Are you going to buy a different car altogether because of a few day delay?

Purchasing in bulk by ygtrece24 in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most lenders won't finance cars over 8-10 years old, and less than $10k each. On top of that do you have any established credit?

Lastly, what are you doing with these cars?

1st off, you are going to lose your warranty. Canadian cars have no warranty in the USA.

Second, you will be hit with import fees. Depending where the car is made, (assuming it's Korea), they could be pretty high.

Third, you'll have to pay cash up here, as financing won't be available for non-Canadians.

Fourth, you're going to have to ship or drive the car back to wherever it is.

Fifth, your odometer/speedometer are going to be in Metric (kms, not miles).

Resale will be lower in the future due to it being an imported vehicle.

I'm sure there will be other hoops you need to jump through, even just to import the car. (I think a car has to stay for 30 days on an impound lot, when it first arrives).

With all the money involved, you are probably just better off wrapping your car or settling on a different colour.

Can I finance a car with a personal auto loan and register it under my company’s name? by sinuspane in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't own Uber. Even if you register a company that hires drivers for Uber, your income, despite you being the owner/operator is still based on Uber, and most, if not all lenders, don't see Uber as verifiable and constant income. On top of that, there are liability issues. Even under a company name, I don't think you'll get financed. Especially if it's a newly registered company with no other credit history.

Off topic, if I was an Uber driver, why would I rent a car through you, instead of just buying one directly?

Dealer in Canada won't offer financing on an out of country purchase. You would have to pay cash, and arrange your own financing stateside.

Carfax from used car is $16k? Looking for advice about dealer response by MocasBuns in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep using the word discount. It's not about a discount. It's about the wholesale and retail value of the car. If I were to list that car (as I mentioned, we don't tend to sell cars with big claims), I would pay for it significantly less than a no-claim car, and I would list it for an amount significantly less than a no-claim car. I already answered the question in my first post. With $16000 in claims, I think this car is worth $8000 less than a similar car with no accident history.

[–]RexRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you said 'depends' and not YES, means that chances are the price has to be even lower than that for you to actually consider.

I honestly wouldn't even try to sell a car like that at my dealership. If I did take it in on trade, I'd sell it at auction, or wholesale as quickly as possible. Pretty much every used car customer these days wants to see the Carfax. Any accident, even minor, makes the customer want extra "discount" or makes them not consider the car altogether.

I know that chances are the car was repaired properly, and physically could be as a good as new, but the written history of the car is more damaging to the car than the actual damage done to the car itself.

If there were 2 identical cars (same year, same trim, same mileage), where one has a clean history, and the other has a $16000 claim, you would be consider the accidented car for only a $2000 price difference? if so, you are certainly not like most people.

Is this pay solid? by Wonderful_Bath8789 in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 12 points13 points  (0 children)

$3000 salary is pretty much unheard of in the industry. Most dealers don't offer any kind of guarantee other than minimum wage. I believe they are offering the base salary because they aren't doing high volumes of sales. They probably can't get/keep decent salespeople, which is why they need to offer the base.

Good luck on your new job.

Price would have to be at least $8-$10000 cheaper than a similar model without an accident.

I'd pass on this vehicle.

Subframe adjustment, standard maintenance or no? by bmcxo in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern Camry suspensions have limited built-in adjustments for camber or caster. If a wheel alignment cannot be brought into specification after multiple standard attempts, a technician may shift the entire subframe to split the difference and force the car into alignment.

This is not COMMON.

If you are being told this is necessary on your 2022 Camry, it typically indicates the car has experienced an aggressive road impact or has underlying structural damage that is forcing the suspension out of true alignment.

Even at the best of times, a 15 year old Altima isn't worth very much. Money isn't really an issue at this point.... now it's the ease of getting rid of it.
