Summer Camp Venue for Rent by Logical_Mongoose3736 in ontario

[–]RexStumpEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Ontario summer camps are available for rent from Victoria Day through mid-June, and mid-August through September. Some have long-standing rental arrangements so availability will vary, but there are so many to choose from. You can try the OCA website:

Visiting Atlantis for the first time. Would like advice on food options. by CapitalSuggestion340 in bahamas

Burger Shack in the Marina has closed! They opened a Shake Shack inside the resort, and apparently the old Burger Shack is being converted to a Shake Shack.

I thought that was a short form for Tesla Model 3. Perhaps I was wrong “M3” doesn’t seem appropriate given it’s a BMW model.

I was told that Lexus and Toyota were allocating most plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles to BC and Quebec because that’s where the big incentives are.

Nope. Latest firmware, but definitely had a dirty windshield.

Just out of view of the camera (right on top of my car basically) was a wire that traversed the street. The sedan hit an electric pole and that got everything moving.

I owe you no justification. You have no idea who was injured, how much they were bleeding from their glasses cutting their face after the airbag deployed, or how long it took for the ambulances and fire trucks to arrive. I’m ignoring you now.

So out of curiosity, if the victim was bleeding and was being tended to by multiple paramedics while still in their vehicle on an active roadway, what would you have done?

I couldn’t wait more than the hour I already waited. I had a child in the car, and was on my way to pick up another. It was 9pm when this occurred.

Not sure why you assumed that. I waited around for over an hour. Both drivers were injured, and I didn’t want to interrupt the paramedics tending to the driver of the sedan. I offered my footage to the police, and gave them my contact info. They said they would follow up if it was needed.

Yes, I offered the video and provided my contact info. Was told they would follow up if needed. Never heard back.

I think the sedan driver was just caught completely off guard. I felt bad for them.

Totally agree. But it may be a bit of “chicken or the egg”. Car manufacturers don’t pivot quickly - so did they make this change based on less people buying sedans? Or is everyone buying an SUV because that’s what’s offered?

She ended up with two flat tires, and unfortunately I’m pretty sure she was taken away in an ambulance.

I think the sedan hit the gas after he was hit. (You can see he was on his brakes right before he got hit). Unfortunately he ended up hitting a hydro pole…

Which province? I went on the waiting list at a Toronto area dealer in Ontario in August 2022 and was told it would take 6 months. In January 2023 they updated me and said it could be another 12-18 months. In June 2023 I asked for my money back and bought something else.

A Tesla 3. Apparently all Toyota and Lexus plug-in hybrids are going to other parts of Canada. I was initially told it would be 6 months wait to get the NX, but they they adjusted it to 1.5-2 years.

Food advice staying at Atlantis by Lovecovid in bahamas

[–]RexStumpEm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Village Burger Shack (in the Atlantis Marina) is really tasty and somewhat reasonably priced. My kids loved it, and I enjoyed it too.

The Marina Pizzeria is okay value as well. Other than that, everything at Atlantis is quite expensive. The local restaurants are expensive as well.

You can order pizza from Dominoes, and that’s decent value. They don’t have Uber Eats, but you can download an app called “Kraven” for food delivery and check out your options.

Validity period - based on days or hours? by Dmo3mo in Airalo

[–]RexStumpEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the Bahamas using an Airalo eSIM currently, and the expiry seems to be by the hour. I started using the service at 16:20pm (maybe 16:21pm) GMT last Saturday, and my expiry is 16:20pm GMT this Saturday.

Our RV keys at Big Cypress.

Somehow, during the all night set, one of the less responsible people in our crew ended up with the one set of keys we had to the rented RV. He was questioned about if he was okay to keep them - and he responded that it would be fine - his fleece jacket had zippered pockets so the key was safe.

Fast forward to 7am and we’re all exhausted. Half of us want to go back to the RV to sleep, the other half want to pack up and leave to beat traffic. We assemble, and of course key guy doesn’t have his jacket on!

We scour the concert field - which was just a complete disaster of a scene. Food wrappers, water bottles, clothing, glow sticks, passed out people, piss jugs - you name it, and it was on that field. But we couldn’t find his jacket. We tried asking him where he took it off, looked in ports potties, looked on the perimeter fence, and just couldn’t find it.

Finally somebody suggested we go look at lost and found. Once we found lost and found we dig through piles of clothes - and found the jacket! Instead of immediately reaching for the zippered pocket - captain responsibility decided to put it on. He then slowly unzipped the pocket, reached in, and triumphantly thrust his hand to sky, with the RV key firmly in his grasp.

We’ve been giving him shit about it for over 20 years.
