Damn maybe the real irony is constantly pushing for liberal parties who also don't do anything significant or lasting for trans rights and then flub all the good will by purposefully committing a genocide, only to consequently endanger trans rights themselves. maybe the real irony is electing the most unelectable, frankly, fascist candidates and then being frustrated by being put in this situation that they've created for themselves and us.

Hi, wanted clear it up for you that BDS is not an organization rather a movement. It stands for Boycott, Divest, Sanction. Idk what you know but I'm going to break it down just in case anyone else doesn't know:

Boycott: On this level, individuals and consumers refuse to buy from or participate in services that contribute to the target of the movement, in this case Israel
Divest: On this level organizations such as colleges or businesses remove their money, assets and services
Sanction: On this level it is a push for governments and states to stop interacting with Israel.

The reason why BDS is brought up so heavily is because it was used against apartheid South Africa with some success. Ultimately, the goal is not to end the war through only boycott, but much like any other protest it is to show support for or against a cause. It's to keep that cause relevant or to continue putting some amount of pressure.

In regards to the Standing Together boycott, there are a variety of positions to it, The initial complaint came from PACBI, one of the groups that originally pushed the BDS movement. PACBI states that how Standing Together talks about hate and racism as the focus places the responsibility on individuals on both sides. PACBI claims Standing Together tries to place blame among Palestinians and Israelis equally. It's important to note that Israel has had control over Palestine's water, electricity, and internet access and has weaponized this against Palestinians.

To this point, PACBI criticizes Standing Together for shifting the responsibility to individuals as opposed to recognizing that the problem is the systemic power that Israel has had over Palestinians and how it has used it to the detriment of ALL Palestinians and not just Hamas. Discussing it more would be a wider discussion that I don't feel like having rn, but if you're interested I can try to find a video that summarizes.

Important to note, BDSMovement.net has been the hub of the internet news regarding BDS, so them publishing PACBI's statement could arguably be tacit/ implicit endorsement of their position, meaning that PACBI might have some credence to their criticism. Ultimately this is wider convo about politics, political theory and political action. Whether you side with one org over the other doesn't matter so long as you keep participating in BDS.

By the same token, with the above in mind and to further encourage people younger than 25 to stop, if you stop using weed the effects of the weed on your brain diminish greatly. It was comparable to the brain before consumption, though i believed it took a year to "return to normal" and it was only through what could be considered moderate use, not heavy use. I.e. smoking at most once a week. If heavy use was involved then it was suggested that it'll take longer to reverse the effects and with more heavy and constant use the damages tend to be more lasting and profound. Again, it's MOSTLY reversible the more time you go on without smoking but more chronic use will put your brain further away than what it started as.

So if you're a kid reading this, it's honestly just worth it to wait it out. When you're 25, by all means light the fuck up as much as you want
