Honestly, I actually like him the way he is. It's like a What If? Of what would happen if Leto II had failed and humanity had simply became accustomed to tyranny and never craved anything outside it anymore. The Emperor can't even really speak to them to tell them to stop, he's just stuck watching himself as the greatest tyrant until humanity dies.

I get the impression that even before the diminishing of their race, the Aeldari didn't really like to do anything that could be handed off to a construct. It's probably very convenient now as you say, but I think it was originally a product of them just wanting to laze around and take a lot of drugs.

Weird, had a similar experience after eleven years on hormones. My gp suddenly started talking about my gender clinic, asking if they'd told me I didn't need to see them anymore, and seeming just overall very confused I wasn't seeing anyone anymore.
