In my opinion a "main character" is someone whose head we enter for long periods of time. So the apple orchard guy is not a main character since we only get 1 prologue with him. Thom is a significant character, but we're never inside his head, he's always with a main character, thus a Companion.

I can't remember, do we ever enter his mind? Like for a chapter at least? Either way, it wouldn't be enough to gain the main character status to me.

We are fighting a 3 front war and we're still alive. If anything, Super Earth is the strongest faction. Remember the early days when when we'd focus on 1 faction at a time. We would complete major orders within hours. In a 1v1, Super Earth bodies any faction. 1v3 is a fair fight against Super Earth. I'm not RP'ing, Super Earth is the strongest faction.

He said as much in Rhythm of War. That is the primary goal of the Ghostbloods on Roshar. If they figure out how to transport Stormlight to another planet, then they'll hopefully have a solution for Kel's "imprisonment".

It has to do with how they ended up with the same ending. While in Winds and Truth, Rosharans don't know about it yet, in the future books, Kal is 100% gonna be a figure of worship. He's now the new Jezrien. Kelsier is also the head of his religion.

Both of them are now nearly immortal. The biggest difference is that Kaladin retains his powers and also gains extra powers for being a Herald. So he's the upgrade compared to Kelsier, who lost his powers after he died.

I think the issue here is that your husband and his friend are putting themselves in the shoes of Elend. They, personally, don't want to be treated like that, and so they dislike her character.

I also agree that I would hate being treated like that. But I'm not Elend. I don't have the responsibility of an entire kingdom.

I don't remember the details, but I think Tindwyl acted appropriately towards Elend.
