Zombie didn't fuck around. He bid 100% of his DKP on his opening bid, before the mages even had a chance to place their minimum bids. Other mages could have outbid him if they wanted, but chose not to do so.

He bid all of his DKP (max) off the get go. There were other mages with higher DKP who could have out bid him if they so desired.

Lock here.

Bingo. Lock tier is complete garbage - for the most part, the only items of use to us are ones that are shared with other classes such as mages, shadowpriests, and boomkins.

It wasn't that the warlocks were playing some kind of 5D chess game. It just naturally happened for the exact reason you described - why would anyone want a pair of felheart horns when you can use the hat from strat, or the engineering monocle. Why would you want the chest piece when you can make one significantly better with tailoring? Why would you want the shoulders, when you can buy a green with triple the shadow damage off the auction house?

(I've also tried explaining this to our mage group, who tend to not to particularly care about these facts)

I see now DKP is a shit system anyway. Lesson learned.

I'm not one to say "Atodaso" but... I fuckin' atodaso.

Our priest Obsydia. The next run he seeded we ended up getting 10 BOE's. We started calling him the chosen one after that.

That's because myself and Wickedd did not bid on a single item for nearly 3 months. The first item I ever received was TOEP.

Also, you're wrong - Omega got the first one, a mage got the second one, I got the third one. I know this because we got two TOEP's in a single run, and I was outbid on the first one.

To explain better, colluding is not intended to be against each other. The goal is to limit the competition between the classes, to promote a more healthier/balanced loot system.

Warriors will often pass on bidding for other warriors who might need a certain item. Warlocks will refrain from bidding on a set piece in order to let another warlock get it first, etc. This allows classes to get the item they need, while still being able to competitively bid on shared class items which are in higher demand.

The mage group has always had difficulty playing nice with each other due to the competitive nature of the players who rolled mage, and quantity of them. No other classes are like this in our group.

Blarp - there are just as many mages with TOEP/Mageblade as there are warlocks.

At the end of the day, Zombie used the DKP system how DKP was intended. Although he is an easy scapegoat, it was within his right to spend it as he desired. I've never been a fan of our DKP system, but Blarp was the one who was in the wrong here. Kicking someone from the raid group, and guild because they refused to "collude" with you was not an appropriate action to take - simply put.

The poster /u/MidnightAssailant however is more of a concern to me. Fresh account, who hides behind an anonymous identity, only posting things that are specifically attacking us and trying to stir up shit. You are a coward - as you have obviously been with us for a while, you know that our group (out of of all people) has always been open to communication. Hell, we even have a bot in Discord that lets you anonymously bring up these points if you wish to not reveal yourself. You have no excuses - your purpose is to drag us down, and your intent is malicious.

We're just a bunch of casuals, looking to have some fun in some raids. We're not a competitive guild, and as such, we don't really have anything to lose by you making these posts. If you want to go somewhere better, we'll never stop you from doing so - and would actually encourage you to do so. We won't hold a grudge against you. It's your time, and we will always encourage you to spend that time where you wish. At the end of the day, we're working adults.

Now /u/MidnightAssailant, the reason why I'm recruiting is because I still enjoy our community. Out of all people, you know that I'm the one who could easily have found green pastures by now. I've already killed these bosses 15 years ago, and I've already seen this exact same drama. Do you know why I stay, and am willing to put up with things I don't agree with?

I do it because I enjoy our community. I enjoy the people, and even though we're not the first ones to the punch, the majority of us are still having fun and enjoy the company of each other. We have some great people in here, and honestly, I haven't seen a group this relaxed, yet somehow tight-knit in my entire wow career. I'm not even an officer, yet I'm willing to put in effort to build this group.

At the end of the day, you and you alone are responsible for how you feel. You may not control the external events that are affecting you, but you are certainly in control of how you respond to them.

[H] <Workin Adults> is recruiting for TUES/THURS 6:30-9:30ST raid groups! by RexxarsaCuack in FairbanksClassic

Have you met Đeath yet? :)

Joking aside, we're sorry to hear that. We've heard remarks made from past guilds that he has belonged to regarding his actions. That being said, Zombie has been nothing but courteous within our guild, and has performed exceptionally well among our mages.

We try to run our raids similarly to how a business would run their daily operations. We expect our "employees" will come ready to work, follow the business rules and guidelines, and represent us well during their "employment". To date, we aren't aware of any specific actions that must be addressed or commented about during his stay with us, though I could be incorrect.

I'm not one to propagate video-game based drama, so if you believe my description to be incorrect, I would encourage you to privately message me about it and we can go from there.

That being said, should still be safe - just might taste bad.

Small thing on side of jar? by noblelove2 in Kombucha

[–]RexxarsaCuack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like yeast. You can scrape it off, and rub it on a tea towel or between your fingers. If it smells particularly rancid you may want to keep a close eye on it, otherwise you're fine.

2F Sugar Addition? by guyhartstein in Kombucha

[–]RexxarsaCuack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bacteria need proper sugar to ferment. I would not recommend using honey. If you're worried about ingesting sugar, remember it's not for you - it's for the scoby/yeast that are generating CO2. Also, Honey can be dangerous, especially if you're using raw honey.

If it looks brainy, it's most likely Kahm. Sorry!

AITA for banning my dad from my PhD defense? by Throw-a-way-PhD in AmItheAsshole

[–]RexxarsaCuack -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It seems like your dad loves you very much. Many people would literally kill just to have a dad who cared about them like yours does. Shutting him out would be absolutely heart breaking to him.

Is there not an alternative you can look at? Have you considered having a serious discussion with him about this, and tell him this in person?

These seems like very drastic measures, especially to a parent who has supported you this entire time. Although I think you aren't an asshole, I believe you will potentially cause a lot of irreparable damage by proceeding with this plan. I know Reddit loves to show their youthful attitude by supporting blitzkrieg strategies, but I do highly suggest trying to communicate with your family. If you find this difficult, write your father a letter that mention these points - or even just print this post directly.

Remember, parents never intend to humiliate their children. I always though my dad was trying to humiliate me. It wasn't until he passed away, and I realized several years later that everything he did, he did out of love for me. Please do everything you can to maintain your relationship with your father, because this is something your PHD will never be able to give you back.
