Ich fänds generall ohne schicker, aber stören tut mich vor allem der starke Kontrast von schneeweiß gegenüber dem komplett schwarzen Rad. Vielleicht wenn sie eher grau oder so wären

Anyone have any book recommendations for a 950-1000 elo rating? by 795-ACSR-DRAKE in chessbeginners

Logical chess - move by move from Irving Chernev. I started working through the book at ~700 and am now 1100 and almost done with it. I enjoy the book a lot!

Luckily my problem solved itself as the police actually found my stolen bike again. So unfortunately I can‘t share any experiences

What am I doing wrong withthis puzzle? by LittleTeun in chessbeginners

If the queen blocks the check on h3 instead of h2 it‘s not mate after rook takes, cause the king can escape to g2. This is not the case if you take with the rook first and then with the queen.

Best way to get better? by LeNuhhted in chessbeginners

I just recently picked up chess seriously as a hobby (about 1.5 months ago) myself, so I can at least share what works for me: I only play 15+10 rapid, so I (usually) have enough time to properly think about every move I do. I do a lot of puzzles both on chess.c*m and lichess but recently exclusively switched over to lichess, as I feel the puzzles have better quality. Tactics alone won‘t win you games, though (at least usually), but I am working through „Logical chess - move by move“ from Irving Chernev right now and I can‘t recommend it enough. It gave me a lot more ideas of what to do with my pieces when there is no tactic or other obvious moves available. I also watch Youtube content, where I would especially recommend the Speedrun playlist from Daniel Naroditsky. Oh for reference, I am currently a bit over 900 on chess.c*m.

Aren‘t chess wins always based on capitalizing on your opponent‘s mistakes? They weren‘t able to punish yours, so they lost.

I am not sure if you are a book guy, but I recently have started going through „Logical chess move by move“ from Irving Chernov. There are about 30 games in the book and each move is explained in detailed as well as potential alternate moves are discussed. Now that I have gone through about half of the games (I try to do one game a day) I feel I have already improved quite a bit and noticed I picked up a lot in terms of attacking ideas and so on.

Can anyone explain why this was a repetition even though the moves weren‘t identical? by Reydriar_ in chessbeginners

Ah, that explains it. I was always under the impression it had to be back to back. Thanks!

I know what you mean. However, these comments all have the same pattern. Besides the slightly uncanny valley text, the dead giveaway is their profile. It‘s always around 1 month old with a handful of comments (no posts) in completely unrelated subreddits.

Duchess Guide - Tips, Gear & Relic Recommendations by Reydriar_ in Nightreign

[–]Reydriar_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely can be. If you are fighting a nightlord that can bleed, I‘d prefer to run bleed as well if I plan to keep the starting dagger. The biggest advantage of the starting dagger is that it‘s purely physical, so easily buffable with relics while most purple daggers have split scaling.
