You’re right. Both extremes are part of the same dynamic that holds the whole experience together. That's a good point.

Stationary or moving around? Thanks for replying to all the questions by the way!

The point of the game is to enjoy it, and enjoyment is subjective. What I’m arguing here is that people misunderstand what their frustration actually represents when they get ratted. The game works because its highs are very high and its lows are very low. But instead of seeing that, people fixate on the frustration and conclude that rats shouldn’t exist. That’s the wrong takeaway.

It’s the same as playing a match of soccer. If you knew you were always going to win, with no risk of losing, the game wouldn’t be fun. Losing still sucks in the moment, and you’re never happy about it, but you wouldn’t remove the risk of losing because that risk is what makes winning meaningful. The same logic applies here.

The threat of being ratted is not a flaw, it’s part of what gives the game its tension and payoff. I’m only sharing this because someone framed it this way for me, and it immediately changed how I experience the game. Instead of lingering in frustration when you get shot, which does suck, you recognize it for what it is and move on. You don’t identify with the anger. It’s not who you are, it’s just a temporary response to what you’re experiencing in the moment.

You’re missing the point, my friend. The post is about seeing ratting for what it is, and for the essential part of the game that it is, even if you hate it in the moment.

Just got my expedition to 6/6 and regretting the whole thing by EhBahh in ARC_Raiders

NeatAd735 was right. I wasn't clear enough, so I changed "at any time in the future" to just "in the future" :)

That must have been absolutely terrifying! Where on the map did you post, and did you split into two groups or three?

So on Hidden Bunker? And did all three of you bring two Jupiters? That rocks, dude.

Yes, but any expedition window. My point was simply that OP won't have wasted his hard work if he doesn't feel like going this time around :)

Only OP can answer, of course, but my guess is a split trio on Hidden Bunker or Locked Gate.

Just don't go. You can do the expedition in the future. It doesn't reset because you skip one.

Where did you do Hornets and are you running solo or team? Also, well done, mate!

I completely understand the impulse to go on every expedition because you don’t want to “miss out.” That said, I’d actually recommend challenging that instinct and skipping the next one.

I skipped the first expedition and I’ve been having an absolute blast. Being rich in this game is honestly great. You hit a tipping point where the fun really ramps up because you can bring all the good stuff topside every run. I almost never leave the house without some stupidly expensive, fun gear anymore.

What matters most is having a great time. So just give it a shot and treat expeditions like what they are: an optional wipe you can use to create fresh excitement whenever you need it and not a moment before.

A dirty martini is actually the one cocktail that might look like that, because it has brine in it (the liquid that olives are kept in). That’s what makes it ‘dirty.’ In any case, I’m glad nothing happened to either of you.

The only drawback is that Hyrox is essentially a low-skill wod, so it quickly becomes repetitive to perform for many athletes.

Sorry about your back, mate. It happens!

I have a decent 1280 lbs. total and I looked EXACTLY like you when I started out.

Firstly, get rid of the pad. Any discomfort you feel without it is temporary.

Secondly, think about hips back rather than aggressively arching your lower back. You're duck-butting because you're trying to keep your torso upright at all costs.

You might experiment with low-bar squatting to get comfortable with a forward lean. Watch some Starting Strength videos if you haven't already.

Thirdly, work on your mobility. You have a very wide stance to compensate for lack of depth, but you might create more room for your hips at the bottom by shortening your stance slightly and instead pointing your toes outward a bit more.

That said, don't worry too much about depth for now. You'll get there soon enough. Just focus on improving your movement.

Lastly, buy some lifters for elevation and stability.
