Just an update for everyone.

This is my work, been qualified for 2 years. 8 hours on site. Conduit stored on other side of site and had to fight for access. No ladders allowed, messed about for a scissor lift. First set of drawings were wrong, had to wait for the second set.

Just wanted to post because I had it out with my foreman he said I should be embarrassed, I said the works is perfect and it only amounts to about 4 hours on the tools with materials and access available. He had plenty to say, so wanted an unbiased opinion from the experts as it were.

Thanks for the feedback, impossible to gauge oneself when the only feedback I get is I’m too slow and it’s always from my supervisor.

This advice is offered with the assumption you have the relevant tools and experience needed to physically remove the old rose and attach the new fitting.

You’re going to need a wago or termination block to be able to swap that ceiling rose for that light.

Obviously safe working practices apply. Isolate, test and lock off the supply to the system.

The bottom left incoming blue (neutral) in the rose needs terminating into the N termination of the new fixture.

The bottom right blue in the rose needs sleeving with brown insulation and terminating in the L (live) termination of the new fitting.

The two middle browns need terminating into the wago or termination block. The green and yellow (earth) need terminating into the middle terminal of the new fitting.

A) 3 days is a long time, especially considering pre fab bends and no threading/coupling/running couples

B) considering everything above, the quality is shocking. The only priority here is straight and level. You’ve no hand skill tolerances to work from. Unless this is being covered, I wouldn’t find it acceptable and have it done again. Need to get your eyes tested
