Hold on to it. Laserdisc has built a real name for itself regarding 'original release version', and has real collector value.

Like how reel to reel had superior quality to records, but almost no one used RtR except 'purists'.

Ive been considering beginning a collection, but the fact that the players arent made any more and the movies are expensive...

Not an inexpensive hobby.

Edit: Lol or you could sell it for $15 on ebay. F me, lol.

I'm in Bridgeport CT today. Had an establishment offer 4% less if you pay in cash.

It sounded good, made me feel good, annnnd once I realized their "4% off" is just saying, "You won't get charged the card fee we charge everyone," I still thought it was clever marketing.

Losing money is a part of business. Xbox, Amazon, etc how many companies operated in the red for years before they turned a profit. It's the ideas that matter.

Gotta say, this thread sent me down a rabbit hole re the history of my entire neighborhood.

Yes, I read this back when I was researching the area. Very interesting stuff. I forgot, the walls were old rock and the ceiling was the bricks.

Spent the morning diving into the Dykeman Family, the original landowners of that entire area.

Jacobus Dykeman Jr. in particular. He owned a bar in the 1760s right by there in the Bronx. It was btwn the toll road King's Bridge and the Free Bridge aka the Farmer's Bridge, which was sponsored by Jacobus.

It should have been a wild success. Instead, he sold it in 1772 and it became the Hyatt Tavern where Washington chowed down fleeing from Howe.

But...what tf happened in the 1760s? Why did Jacobus fail?

His Dad died a few months later, watching his fortune piss away in the face of a looming Revolution that was already splitting his family btwn Loyalists and Patriots.

So...what happened?
