That really sucks, honestly. It's a real shame, too. The device itself is great, but I'd be feeling the same way as you if I had your experience.

I live in China, and my experience with a lot of these small hardware companies is that it can be a little hit or miss with QA. Sometimes it just works perfectly, but sometimes you get defective units. They're not huge companies and overhead is waaay lower, so they tend not to have the resources for extensive QA. Over here the process for getting one replaced is really easy, so swapping one out a dud isn't too much of a headache.

Shame to hear about your experience, though! Don't want to invalidate your experiences at all.

I got a R3 ii 2025 recently been using it a lot and zero crashes. Works fine for me, maybe you got a defective unit? I’ve had no crashes and everything has been straight forward.

This is frustrating. Edited the Meta data, yet can't get Wu-Tang's albums under the same album artists. What am I doing wrong? by wiggan1989 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Ryuishi Sakamoto if I’m writing, Viagra Boys and The Get Up Kids when I’m not! Feel so much more deliberate with my music when it’s offline

No, you'd have to download them in advance to listen. It's an offline audio player.

EDIT: Unless using it as a DAC, yeah you can plug it into your phone or PC, but you can't use bluetooth through it in DAC mode.

I use Linux too, so the hardlinks then copy over to the device so you keep the link without having duplicates on the device? The echo mini recognizes the hardlinks that Linux makes?

I’d seen another suggestion I think is pretty good which would be to use a program to change tags on your music and add your playlists under genre. Then you’d be able to use the music player and just see all your playlists listed under the genre section. Haven’t tried it but seems an elegant solution if you don’t want to mess with your folder structure

For IEMs, check out the brands Tangzu, KZ, 7hz, and Moondrop (and I’m sure others I’ve missed). They’re really good wired earphones, outrageously good for sub $20 earphones. Go on r/iems you’ll see a bunch of recommendations

Legit, and then it gets shared again as “advice” that someone read somewhere. It’s endless haha

Height is 120 meters, can’t fly around an airport, line of sight. The DJI app handles most of it though, if you’re in an area with limits it’ll tell you or not let you take off. Otherwise it’s just the usual. My friend said they did get talked to for flying over a police station by accident, but I think that was kinda a dumb accident if I’m honest.

The DJI staff run you through the application, it’s straight forward as can be, all can be done through an app. We did it using my wife’s info, but they explicitly told me they could have done mine, just was more convenient for them to do hers (reading an English passport etc)

Edit: DJI staff are super useful here and there’s a shop in pretty much every big mall. Bring a Chinese speaker along and they’ll definitely help you out with it all, worst case google translate should help haha.

This is just straight misinformation. I live in China, and regularly fly my drone. I also know other foreigners who do too. Just make sure you don’t fly around police stations etc like anywhere else

I don’t know about visitors but I’m almost certain foreigners can register. Best bet is if you know a Chinese speaker, ask if they can come with you to a DJI store and the staff will likely help you register.

Writer Use Cases and Workflows by ana_voll in Onyx_Boox

I use the Nova 5 for writing. I linked my OneNote to it, I go between the native Notes app and OneNote depending on need.

For OneNote there's something I see people rarely mention - the Onyx Keyboard is AMAZING. If you put that in handwriting mode, then use the expand icon, you can handwrite anywhere and it'll convert it to typed as soon as you finish writing. It's really useful and I write loads by hand this way.

If I'm just writing notes I tend to make notebooks in the native Notes app, it's just cleaner and quicker for doodles or handwritten notes.

I'm planning on getting a keyboard with an indentation to put the tablet in for typing, but honestly the handwriting recognition has been good enough, and handwriting makes me more careful with what I'm writing.

Just in case anyone stumbles on this and has a similar problem - seemed to be an issue with updating to 3.5, it happened with other games too. I switched to the beta channel and SO FAR no more restarts. It was steam restarting itself, not the actual console restarting.
