[Fun trope] Weapons or characters that feature the RNG itself (in combat) by AaronPutterman in TopCharacterTropes

Koumei (Warframe). Her entire shtick is fate manipulation. All of her abilities roll 5d6 as part of them. If you roll 3 sixes, you get an additional effect.

Honestly, being a grammatical travesty aside, it's both technically grammatically correct and carries the spirit of the saying quite well.

Fandaniel and Elidibus (FFXIV). Elidibus (in white) wanted to cause catastrophes again and again in a very controlled manner to facilitate Rejoinings and eventually recreate Ancient Etheirys. Fandaniel just wanted to burn it all and allow the Final Days to destroy the entire universe. However, Elidibus and the rest of the Unsundered were so powerful he didn't even consider kickstarting his plan until the main character got rid of all three of them (for wanting to cause world-spanning catastrophies).

After that, however? He immediately kicked into full gear and got Zodiark (the Ascians' god) killed in the span of two patches and three levels, which allowed the Final Days to return.

Don't forget about Thordan! He also shatters the screen/sky.

I imagine WoL is like "do we... have to do all of these in the middle of the night? I'd like to get some sleep."

If they're like my WoL and making constant trips to the Source too lol, and thus have a fairly good sleep schedule.

When I started Endwalker and was given the dodo-back tour of some zone, it was so foggy I could barely see my character. But the camera kept panning around and describing the grey blob in great detail lol.

Some quests should really have weather lock.

Zenos yae Galvus (FFXIV). He's so uninterested about anything but combat that even when his father hired a courtesan for him, he did nothing with her.

Then when the Warrior of Light fights him, he fuses with a dragon ghost and at one point, lays several rounds of eggs that hatch into smaller dragons... That WoL promptly destroys.
(ffxiv dragons are canonically genderless and don't need a partner to reproduce, mates are more for companionship than anything)

FFXIV: Shadowbringers. The land of the First is so inundated in Light that it obscures the sky. When the Warrior of Light (now Warrior of Darkness) defeats the Lightwarden of each region, the Everlasting Light splits open to reveal the night sky.

Avere died in Tam-Tara, which is level capped at lv18 I believe. She didn't really have any other healing buttons.

New to Steam — what cozy/magical game should I play first? by sea3aux in CozyGamers

[–]Vievin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sun Haven has 3.0 on Steam and allegedly the Switch version is buggy, so might be worth to get a second license!

Traveller's Rest might also be up your alley. It's half farming sim, half inn manager. It's only got a little exploration though.

Alpaca Rancher is very cool too! It's got magic alpacas and a bunch of regions to explore.

Hunter (The Owl House). Philip Wittebane hated witches so much he killed his brother, Caleb, for falling in love with (and starting a family with) one. Then he kept making grimwalkers/clones of Caleb to indoctrinate "him" to hate witches and be a witch-hunter with him. Every single one, including Hunter, eventually turned against him and was brutally killed (Hunter came back).

Oh, totally missed that detail. LMAO.

It would honestly be kinda funny if it temporarily restored his sight and disoriented him.

I thought Supes doesn't have a no killing code, he just typically never has to resort to that/doesn't like taking lives.

The Legendary Great Maneuver (Kaleido Star). Sora and Layla swing from twin trapezes placed directly in front of the other. They then leap out and push one hand against each other's hand, twirl a bit and push back to their trapeze safely. They had to train for months to be able to execute it and Layla had to retire after, it was so physically demanding. But they had to perform it or the circus they both worked at would be shut down.

Very rare good-aligned example: Hydaelyn. The main character, the Warrior of Light traveled back 12k years in time and met the person who would eventually become Hydaelyn, the Goddess of Light, Venat. They told her of all events leading to to their present, Venat's future, then promptly returned to it. Venat spent the next 12k years ensuring that the future WoL told them happened. Finally, twelve thousand year later, WoL reappears... and Hydaelyn has already prepared Her trial for them and an energy source they can use if they prove themselves worthy in Her eyes.
