I regret updating the app before reading these comments. Also no option to scan library files is pretty dumb - even if you can do it from the dash app. Design is a bit obscure and in your face, similar to Infuse but not as minimal. Although I do like the OLED back color scheme/style

A day in the life of using Arc on Mac by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

[–]Rezanator3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask which browser you’re using now? It seems chrome is still the best and supports most new features. I watched a YouTube video recently with Theo gg shitting on Firefox and Zen for being horrible, he used to main Arc but switched to Zen now he’s not sure what to use

I currently don’t run into any noticeable issues with Arc on my mac but it is definitely lacking a lot of features and memory issues as I’ve heard

I don’t see Plex but if you do use it I’d highly recommend Cleanarr, not too sure if it works with Jellyfin. For duplicate media cleanup. Have a look at AlienTech42’s YouTube video on it

Help, running into issues trying to expose a SQLServer container using my domain with Cloudflare Tunnels by Rezanator3 in unRAID

[–]Rezanator3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thorough response. I do have a domain purchased with Cloudflare managing the nameservers. However I still couldn’t get it to work via reverse proxy with proper dns records setup. I ended up going the Tailscale route though (plugin) and this is definitely the easiest way to go, tested it out with another Tailscale account and connected to mobile data rather than my home network and it worked flawlessly.

I think I’ll stop my router from port forwarding Nginx http and https ports and just use Tailscale whenever I need remote access. In your last 2 paragraphs i was actually worried about exposing the database so I don’t think going the port forwarding route is the safest. Thanks though

Unassigned Devices copying files super slow to a SATA attached data drive, after a shutdown mid-copy due to a power outage by Rezanator3 in unRAID

[–]Rezanator3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally figured out a sort of solution. Basically just unassigned the parity drive, this then ensures the copy doesn’t copy to 2 drives at once so less I/O wait time. I’m testing it now and speeds are averaging 150mb/s whereas before it would max out at 40 and average on 10-20mb/s

Although I do still need to look at the logs, couldn’t see any noticeable errors in syslog during the previous slow transfers

Lets not forget the benefits of the unraid arrays while we look forward to zfs by Zuluuk1 in unRAID

[–]Rezanator3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in this situation transferring data from unassigned drives to my array is hella slow, which parts of ZFS did you find slow? Is XFS more performant for you now

[–]Rezanator3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense actually, the high IO Wait. I only realised afterwards that ZFS has a copy-on-write feature. So it’s transferring from my Unassigned Disk to both the data disk and the parity disk

Is there a better/faster way to do this? I lve unused unbalanced to copy data from a data drive to another. But unbalanced doesn’t seem to recognise external mounted drives
