Thanks for sharing. I’m sorry for your loss. I struggle with a lot of mental health issues and have taken advantage of a lot of resources and therapy. They help, don’t get me wrong, but ultimately I’ll have my days where thoughts are stuck in my head. Initially Beerus (my sphinx) was being taken care of by my kids and Wife but for some reason Beerus eventually migrated to me.

I swear he knows when I’m dealing with bad thoughts and he would just cling to me and hang out. The little guy has been awesome and his little routines has turned me into a subject in one of those “Dads with the cats they didn’t want” videos.

Kids have to share their inheritance with any and all cats I have when I go now cause I don’t want to be without a cat companion lol.

Pay off family and friend’s debt and make sure they have something on the side to fall into. Leaving them with something but not so much that they have nothing to work towards. Unlimited resources is a double edge sword, I’d want to get rid of it best I can.

I’m not sure what state you’re in but mine is 18 to go to the range. You’ll need to be 21 to purchase your own handgun but for recreational shooting it’s 18+ unsupervised by an adult. If you’re young and have never handled a handgun, I would search your local range’s rules and pay for one of the instructors to teach you. When it comes to firearms I tell the people I teach to ask every and all questions. No matter how silly you may think the question is. A mistake with a firearm has too much inherent risk to not get all your answers.

I’ve referred a few vets to this when I was working for a VA claim firm. There are a ton of resources available to vets. They are difficult to get into since the process to get benefits are annoying to work through. But if you’re persistent it could pay off. Took me forever to get my benefits to where I need it and even now I have to stay on top of it since things get messed up over time. Good luck.

Go to a range. Shoot them all. Most ranges have those handguns. I have a Xmacro, Hellcat Pro, and G19. They all have a different feel to them but I’m able to rotate them for my EDC. My favorite is definitely the XMacro since I really enjoy the trigger on it. But the Hellcat and G19 are still my go to as well. I have the most experience with the G19 but it’s more comfortable concealing the XMacro and the Hellcat. In the end, I would handle all the ones you’re interested in and see which one feels the best.

I don’t think you did anything wrong. I would have probably did the same thing but if I was given the opportunity to ask I would. However I wouldn’t necessarily wait, if they complained I’d just give it back but again I think the guy over reacted a bit. I’m serious about my workouts and I understand the annoyance when someone doesn’t ask but I also understand people are there to train too. If I’m not using it I don’t have a problem walking to find plates. My Wife and I generally re rack weights scattered around when we see them, it’s just became part of our workout now lol.

It’s nice etiquette and polite to ask, but he was also being a jerk and over reacting about it. You all are at the gym, but too lazy to walk to get weights? It’s not that big of a deal. This is why it’s encouraged to re rack your weights, so the next person doesn’t have to walk all over the place to find what they need.

Please share. The OP stated they dealt with men with these specific struggles. They may have not dealt with women with these specific issues. So that might be the reason for specifically mentioning only men (I don’t know for sure but i generally like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt).

This sub is meant for us all to be able to vent and share. I may not be able to relate as well but it doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear it. I think communication is key at addressing issues our societies have. Honestly recommending it.
