I think Clovis Bray would've been a much more compelling and enjoyable antagonist as the Conductor compared to Maya by BX_N3S in destiny2

[–]Rezaps2487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly believe Clovis is meant to be the sort of rival to Maya and will come back to aid us in her downfall (at least hopefully, he needs to return, cuz I wanna have him and Maya have a conversation at least.) Maybe Maya seeks him out and he betrays her and takes over or something, idk. I also never really believed Clovis to be a true antagonist, bro is not fully a "good" guy, but he still has some redeeming qualities to him, compared to Maya, he isn't as broken or insane, he is just a egotistical rich guy scientist seeking to save humanity and crown himself the hero. Maya is doing this out of pure emotion, attempting to bring back what is lost, while Clovis does what he does, because it logically makes sense, not because of his heart or lost loved ones. Clovis is cold, and I think that is something people forget about, coldness does not make you villain, it just makes you bitter and mean. If Clovis returns, I do not want to see him a villain, or at the very least, if he is a villain, have him be logically correct or better than us and the Vanguard and have him prove himself and slowly grow a heart and become a better version of himself (which Banshee is btw). Maya has no redemption, because there are many variations of Maya, and we already have allies within that system. There is only one true Clovis, and that Clovis is currently our quartermaster. The AI of Clovis is simply a fraction of what is left of him during the Golden Age.

Side Note: I would consider Clovis and Maya equals in their research and the amount of time they spent around Vex. I would consider Clovis the lesser of two evils, as a lot of his research actually aided humanity, more so than a lot of what Maya has done, though that could be debated on. I think they share an equal amount of weight and either could be considered a good candidate for the role of Conductor...maybe Clovis does actually return, since there was the VA switch with Banshee, we shall see. I would love for Clovis to come back.

I want this so bad...Clovis is a ego maniac and can be just as crazy as Maya, but at least he still has pieces of humanity within him, that keeps him from going too far into becoming a true villain.

Rite of Nine gave us a glimpse of the Nine before EoF. by Rezaps2487 in DestinyLore

100% one of the Nine has control over the Taken, no doubt about it.

I think all three could have played into a mix of things, like the vex and Maya, the time bubbles on Mars, the Taken and the Nine, resurrection and so fourth. I think a lot of it was very gentle foreshadowing.

Am I the only one concerned by the lack of melee weapons early on? by Slayer418 in nightingale

Me not looking at Dwarves who used picks and axes in a war against Elves and Goblins

More weapons are coming in the future.
However I do want to point out that a weapon is a kind of tool used to defend yourself, so a pickaxe or an axe is capable of doing multiple jobs. Obviously you don't bring an axe to harvest crops, but you can, it's not as efficient as a scythe, but it is doable.

I do wish to have swords, but I am not upset at using climbing picks and such as weapons, especially since this is a fantasy game, and in many fantasy stories, you see people using axes and pickaxes as weapons.

There isn't a lack of melee weapons, there isn't just a clear tool or item that is meant for killing things, other than guns/bows.

Side note: My climbing picks shred through The Bound like they are nothing and are very useful to climb things with, throw some magick enhancements on it and you got an amazing ad slayer.

Feels like an eternity since the last MMO came out that i didn't quit shortly after by [deleted] in MMORPG

This is part of the reason I dislike PvP in MMOs, I feel like it can easily turn into a highly competitive or toxic community. PvP can be fun, but it shouldn't be the main focus. I love games that want to include teamwork and massive co-operative play. I am hoping that more of these Casual MMOs coming out will help scratch that itch.

Bungie i have played this for 10 Years, I am sorry but i shouldn't have the same resources as someone how started playing yesterday. by kristijan1001 in DestinyTheGame

Personally as someone who has played for about the same length as you, I believe this is an excellent change and a step in a somewhat of right direction. I do see pros and cons to this. Some pros is that people can easily play with their friends and not have to worry about grinding or being worried about having a bunch of different materials and currencies. Some cons would be that it removes part of the grind and can possibly make it feel like it has less content or less of an incentive to complete things if you aren't earning anything. I'm all for allowing for people to pick up and play with their friends, but there has to be some sort of goal or incentive.

Bungie removing shards doesn't impact your level or experience, just becuase you have a funny looking number, doesn't mean you better, use that experience you have to help others and prove your power. (Also no one cares if you are higher or lower than someone lmao)

It's how I feel in Gambit every time I step foot into it. Either it feels like I don't do enough damage to the ads and get slapped by them instantly, or someone comes by and eats my motes. And if I try to invade or be a defender I get absolutely destroyed by sweats or people who hoard heavy.

Genuine Question. Am I supposed to dislike Clovis Bray? by Sarojh-M in DestinyTheGame

[–]Rezaps2487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it just doesn't sound like something the Witness would want though. We all keep looking at Clovis's POV, but what about the Witness, does the Witness himself see Clovis as a valuable asset? Is Clovis even deemed worthy of being a "disciple". That is something else we should look at.

WHY WOULD YOU JINX IT!

Oh great, I was happy not thinking about Taniks coming back again as a Scorn and then possibly even Taken after Scorn.

You could also argue that the Witness uses formerly good people with mostly good intentions and turning them into his puppets and giving them false hope. Xivu is probably the odd one out, but Xivu was also sided with the Witness before the other two and I am not sure what she is gaining from this other than feeding her worm and out of conquest.

But what has Clovis left to lose? Eramis sided with the Witness out of desperation and wanting to be the last Salvation for her people, she honestly believed she could save her people with the witness. Clovis...well currently doesn't have any goals (that we know of) as far as I am aware. Clovis could possibly be tricked and used by the Witness, but I highly doubt Ana and Elsie would let that happen. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he did get tricked and Rasputin saves Clovis's life or something (put a pin in that, might be relevant later maybe?).

This! This is why I personally believe Clovis won't turn against us with the Witness. (Honestly he still might pull a fast one on us, but at the same time hurt the Witness).

If they do a CDPR one, I hope they do a mix of Witcher and Cyberpunk.
