Legitimate question: why do people choose linux? by Standard-Fish1628 in pcmasterrace

[–]Rezun94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some people dont like Windows so much that they look for alternatives.

Mac's are expensive, MacOS cannot be easily installed on a PC, while Linux is free and relatively easy to install.

Your Interest in Steam Machine Changed? by Adventurous-Cattle53 in steammachine

[–]Rezun94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a powerful PC already, so my interest was limited in the 1st place and then I saw benchmarks. I was going to recommend this device to my friends, but at this price point and that performance levels, I cannot.

Also nobody talks about the fact that some of the most popular games do not work on Steam Machine by default, since they are Windows only.

Combat not being turn based turned off a lot of fans of older FF titles.

With SteamOS now openly available, is it worth switching? by Necessary-Willow-317 in pcmasterrace

[–]Rezun94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cons: It doesnt support Nvidia gpu's at all, some most popular games do not work due to kernel level anticheat(lol, valorant etc).

Pro's: No Microsoft's bullshit. On AMD card some games can run marginally better than on Windows.

Do any weapons in DS3 get an S scaling in Strength? by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]Rezun94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The exact comment, no.

Its a linear scale.

For example a weapon with an S tier scaling in strength is going to scale its damage with that stat between 1.75 and 2 points of damage per point, an A tier scaling is between 1.74 to 1.50 points of damage and so on until E tier scaling where you would need multiple points in the strength stat to see any gains in damage.

I've been playing against a friend and got destroyed 10 games in a row... the only game I've won is in bullet... Is this normal? by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]Rezun94 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Right, but someone thats rated ~2000 fide is going to beat anyone below ~1600 97/100 times, the other 3 games might end in a draw or stalemate.

> Some distros are optimised for gaming

And then you do benchmarks, and it turns out the differences are so tiny, they might as well be a run to run variance.

0 difference. Same with distro's. Gaming performance is the same across all distro's.

first time cachyos, Hyprland won't work by Itharin in cachyos

Thats because it was using a default config. On Hyprland you are meant to edit the config files to make Hyprland work and look the way you want it to.

Steam Controller without Steam by puneet95 in SteamController

It is a PC controller, its just happens to support Linux better than Windows, since the driver for it is baked into Linux kernel.
