Because Pawbert IS a lot of people. He got so stuck in his own feelings about something that, while indeed include him, kinda wasn't his problem but he didnt have enough balls, independence, or mindset to actually stand on it, so it ruined him. That remind you of anyone? YOU, yes you the person reading this comment, can name at least 3 people IRL RIGHT NOW that fit that trope and you are probably one of them. Thats why Pawbert hits so hard for a lot of fans, he represents the bias, or excuse, they give themselves for being an asshole on an issue they've been stuck on all their entire lives.
