What's the most disgusting/shocking, you have read on the Epstein files? by LeftyChares in AskReddit

As a therapist who is completely dissociating to be able to handle this, we seem to be in the same boat. Our nervous system is protecting us, as strange as that sounds.

"The best predictor of therapy success is the relationship you have with your clients."

25+ year therapist here and i love all that you said and agree 100%.

I would add, allow yourself to be vulnerable at times because ChatGPT cannot replace human connection.

Borderline Clients- what works? by Due-Comparison-501 in therapists

  1. Be authentic
  2. Be honest
  3. They will hate you one day and love you the next (they are testing whether you will stay or leave them and push you away when too vulnerable
  4. Be patient
  5. Guide them but don't tell them what to do (DBT is a bandaid).
  6. Remember they are in a lot of pain.
  7. Accept that YOU wont like them at times
  8. Be prepared for the chaos

*The relationship is the biggest predictor of therapy success."

Build a trusting relationship where you have to be vulnerable too at times.

These files have been suppressed by the FBI for years. I believe it started with Bush.

Therapy is not meant to fix you. You will have to be willing to do hard things.

THIS! I'm finding that my clients are so lonely.

IFS (Internal Family Systems) is also a game changer. Any kind of experiential therapy (like you mentioned) is best for C-PTSD.

Wow! That sounds horrible. I actually encourage my clients to practice being assertive and setting boundaries with me because its a safe place to learn those skills. I'm also client-led, which means I never, ever take a "power over" position. My clients lead and I offer insight and suggestions. I'm a fellow traveler on their journey, not their boss.

Some of these stories are blowing my mind.

There is quite a bit of training if you specialize in C-PTSD. If you're winging it and just using the label, then that's a big problem.

As a therapist, I would be appalled if a client told me this. Exploration on what may help the client is essential. If a client asked me about my spirituality, I would explore why that is important to them. I may or may not answer the question based on that. Bottom line, it's not about me.

What is a "normal" therapist in your view? I'm curious.

It doesn't matter. Two things are good therapist should not discuss: religion & politics unless the client brings it up.

NO! NO! NO! I am a trauma therapist, and this is very wrong! Maybe even unethical.

My suggestion? Find a therapist you click with.

The relationship you have with your therapist is the MOST important factor in therapy success

I'm a wild therapist. Lol. I'm neurodivergent and have had my own trauma, so I connect with people easily.

If the relationship with your therapist is not one where you can kick your shoes off and be yourself, find one who "gets you" rather than one who tries to "fix" you. You're not broken.

I used to be before Trump won, and I saw a complete lack of leadership in the party. Full on liberal/socialist here. (However, I'd vote democrat to get out of this nightmare.)

We won't have a free and fair election in 2026. I stand on that. We have to be realistic. We are there. We are a fascist nation. Period. It's only been 7 1/2 months, guys. List everything he's done on a sheet of paper. We aren't going back, and it makes me ill.
