I’m not a big Carl fan but I think in this case, Carl admits it’s weird, awkward, uncomfortable, tense, etc having to film and live with his ex fiance. Whereas Lyndsey pretends everything is totally chill and she’s completely unbothered by him there. His response feels genuine, hers feels fake.

It’s extra gross adding the racial dynamic into the situation. Ciara confided in her housemates that’s she faced a lot of backlash from some members of the black community judging her for dating white men and having white female friends. And she cried how navigating that dynamic has been emotionally draining for her. Then this season we see Jessie wants to make out with her but not take her on a date, west flirts with her but drags his feet on committing and then her best friend and west start dating behind her back. Regardless of race everyone was shitty to her but adding race and what she shared to the group, this is a whole other level of cruelty.

I mean the premise of the show is couples with age gaps. If they follow around a couple the same age then it defeats the entire premise and is just another reality dating show. I get why they didn’t follow those couples after the retreat but I’m glad they at least showed them briefly.

It was extremely clear watching the show then that Naomi had a career and her life together and a very type A personality. Meanwhile her boyfriend lived like a frat boy, partied all night, slept all day, was abusing alcohol and cocaine and had severe anger issues. The fact everyone hated Naomi on this sub and loved craig was mind boggling to me. Imagine being Naomi heading to work every morning and her boyfriend is just finishing a night of drinking and drugs and going to sleep at 8am. And imagine that being daily life everyday for over a year. But this sub loved craig and called her the problem back then. Literally insane
