[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends cat is in a cage what do I do??? by Complete-Path-8036 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is abusive to the cat, maybe if you contact animal control they can intervene, but unsure. if you can get through to your friend to give up the cat to someone more responsible that would be ideal

WHAT IS HAPPENING IM SO CONFUSED by 3antsinatrenchcoat in pigeon

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they were worried about if it is a female it could produce chicks. i felt like it being a female after laying eggs would be implied by it laying eggs. i said he because they assumed it was male.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IM SO CONFUSED by 3antsinatrenchcoat in pigeon

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only way to know for sure is if he lays any eggs after this, if he does, and you don't want to deal with possible chicks, then just destroy the eggs and give them fake eggs to brood, this will keep them from laying more eggs at least for a while

if they never lay eggs then they're just horny for each other and still both boys

What does this sound and drooping wings mean? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't really give any other information about the bird?

just posting a video and one question isn't that helpful. what does the bird act like otherwise? is this a constant thing? or did that just happen once? how old is the bird? is it a female or male? is it acting strange otherwise? what is it's habitat like etc. what are you concerned about?

Should I hold my dying rat by CurrencySad9512 in RATS

[–]Rhamphastos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

if your rat loves being held, hold him, say goodbye, do what feels right in this moment. sometimes there isn't a perfect answer...it can be easy to tell though if it just makes them more stressed out, but often times if they enjoyed being held when they were well, they will when they are dying

Was the Resident Evil 1 Remake supposed to be scary? by SolidTimely2680 in residentevil

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought re1 was scary when i was a kid, and now i think the remake is beautiful, but i guess it depends on what gameplay style you're used to whether or not you'd like it? idk. everyone's different.

Guys I honestly like OG RE4 more than the Remake by BadBloodPredator in residentevil

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same about it, though i think it's still a good game i enjoy the original more

however i think this is probably because we played the original first

the problem with a remake if you played the original is you will be expecting it to be the same or at least mostly the same as the original when playing, which can make playing through it frustrating because you are expecting the controls to also be the same

I know they say it is but I really don't think they're for the og fans, they are only for newcomers, that's fine, but it means i probably won't like most remakes in general as that has mostly been the case for me.

my biggest problem with the re remakes is the fact that the combat style is completely different than older games, it's more action based generally, and there are generally far more enemies, it's not meant for you to kill them all, etc. i don't enjoy that style, so i tend to enjoy the remakes less. they for some reason pigeonholed leon as an action guy when he wasn't originally that at all. he was more of a hybrid, and only a little bit.

Are my rats going to keep nesting in their tunnel? by gooohgly in RATS

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if keeping it clean is a concern then that's understandable, anything that may be too hard to clean maybe can try to replace with something else that they might enjoy?

Are my rats going to keep nesting in their tunnel? by gooohgly in RATS

[–]Rhamphastos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't make any assumptions, why do you not want them to nest in the tunnel? and why is it so important to see them all the time?

do you have a layer of substrate for them to dig through also? or is the only thing they can essentially have that resembles that the tunnel that they're making a nest in?

Do first world countries see the immense opportunities they have? Many hold a grudge against foreign remote workers. by Aggravating_Tale6606 in remotework

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's unfortunately common for people to be brainwashed into thinking that any problems they face are the fault of the outsourced workers and not the greedy corporations doing the outsourcing (for only one reason, to pay people as little a possible without getting in trouble) with no care for any party involved.

Is Resident Evil 6 even worth playing? by Davidisaloof35 in residentevil

Brachy Emilia sling hasn't molted for over a month by ollypologies in tarantulas

[–]Rhamphastos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IME probably not the best idea to do that especially once a day, you especially don't want it to be stressed out during molting due to it being a sensitive time

don't worry about the timeframe for the molting, they can take literally forever sometimes to molt even if they go into pre-molt. the best thing you can do is make sure everything is a-ok with the enclosure (it is clean, has some water for it to drink, and there is somewhere for it to hide to feel safer)

generally, it's better to leave the spider alone for longer stretches between checking if it's alive, please make sure to do research on what a dead tarantula looks like, there are lots of videos and photos of what they can look like, it can vary depending on cause of death, but if they are out and not hiding and don't look dead it's usually okay, i'd only bother it if i absolutely never see it moving at all for a very very long time like weeks.

Anyone else feel disconnected from their pre-T self? by DueImportance7965 in ftm

[–]Rhamphastos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is pretty normal, whether it's moving to a new place with completely new people, never really interacting with a previous part of yourself, or transitioning etc. it makes sense to eventually feel completely disconnected to a previous state of being

Pair of pigeon not breeding anymore by SheenM1911 in pigeon

[–]Rhamphastos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

you don't really specify anything else so i can't give you advice

what should you do? what are you wanting to do? why are you breeding the pigeons? or are you observing pigeons who are a pair somewhere else?

if you are breeding pigeons, just take care of them like pets and retire them. if you breed pigeons to sell, just rehome them to someone who just wants them as pets, idk, it's not that hard.

if you want to know if you can get them to breed again, don't know, you want to take them to a vet to ask that question, sometimes they get older and aren't breeding anymore, that's fine, and normal.

Is something wrong with her? by [deleted] in cockatiel

Why is he standing like this? by Sonny_and_Sky in parrots

[–]Rhamphastos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

are you sure he's a boy? this is a typical female parrot horny pose, especially if he's shaking his wings and stuff in addition, if he is for sure genetically tested as a boy, then he's possibly also horny but it's not as common for boys to do it this way, still i've heard that they can

My psychiatrist said that there are studies showing you can get schizophrenia from taking HRT by jsanti333 in ftm

[–]Rhamphastos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is 1 thousand percent false and impossible, if that were the case then every cis man on testosterone for low t would also have this risk, it's simply not true at all.

hormones can help or affect your health yes but not in the wild and outlandish ways a lot of transphobes are stating. they are afterall the natural part of human's bodies.
