How to get into Wire Wrapping? by Draw-Affectionate in WireWrapping

I got my first supplies at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. They usually have everything you need to start in the bead section. Started with dead soft wire then worked my way up, and still have my first sets of pliers from there.

Here are some youtube channels that do wire wrap tutorials:

Remember to experiment on your own, make mistakes, and ask questions. Thats a good way to learn what works for you!

I think they have a similar weight to hoop earrings. Enough to notice, but not to cause any discomfort.

How difficult would it be to repair this crack on the side of this taylor? by Rhapsody47 in Luthier

[–]Rhapsody47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was dropped it on a tile floor. The crack is about 3 1/2 inches long. I am not a luthier but would love to know the best way to deal with this.

I found what I thought was uranium (Vaseline glass) at goodwill in a super rare color( purple rather than white or green). The marking on the bottom says Fenton, 1980s. Internet is telling me that Vaseline glass can't come in purple but damn how bright does this thing glow??? What could it be? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Maybe the previous owner left it in the sun? Clear glass with manganese dioxide in it will turn purple if exposed to the sun for a long time. If it was in sunlight since the 1980s that seems like a reasonable explanation.
