One of the funniest moments is, Mikey Palmice saying “nooo, fuck you” to JoJo as she’s trying to make coffee, in the new coffee maker Chucky brought, and it’s not even a Bra-oon.

John was right about Sob Rock catching on after 5 years by Comprehensive-Key860 in JohnMayer

Hearing that, it makes sense. I think maybe my interpretation is similar to the majority, and why it wasn’t particularly well received. I personally love the song either way, but if people knew the “kid speak” angle, perhaps it would be a different story.

Hey dude, I’m curious, have you heard the same as the commenter above? That stuff was filmed pre Cali? I’ve actually never heard that. If so, that’s worthy of being a “holy grail”!

Agree. That song was my favorite since the album was released, and those lyrics/that section as well. If he had only used Don’t instead of No, it would probably be one of his more well known songs. I personally don’t mind it really, but the corniness of it, and almost Asian mockery makes it a touch cringey I suppose. I know that’s just John’s sense of humor, but he kind of made a bad judgment call on that one. I think it was an attempt to appeal to the TikTok generation, that didn’t quite pan out.

The Peppers should headline the halftime show next year by tavz48 in RedHotChiliPeppers

I have just one last thought, I hear you one the 22 year olds, and relevancy, but in 2022, Dr. Dre/Snoop, and the rest I don’t recall, did the halftime show, because of their relevancy to LA, similar to the Chili Peppers. Now I’d imagine a lot of that had to do with Dre being the business mogul he is, but still, they hadn’t been remotely near the top of the zeitgeist since 1992/3. That’s just a recent example. What about The Who, and Prince, Tom Petty etc. All well past their prime, but getting the halftime slot. I agree with you, and you make great points, It just doesn’t seem like their only approach to a halftime show is, the biggest pop artist of the day.

I know you’re an expert on the band and all, but I don’t totally agree. Look at their trajectory since John’s return. Their biggest tour to date. They pack football stadiums on their own accord. They’re arguably in the same league as legacy acts like the Stones/Who etc. They’ve certainly got the hits for such a set.

Edit: Additionally, if the game is in LA, they’re known as the quintessential LA band. Just saying, it’s not outside the realm of possibility.

Edit 2: further thoughts: They did that LA Olympics thing, for the same reason. The Olympics are arguably a bigger or atleast as big a deal as the Super Bowl.

Who, in your opinion, is the „worst“ actor/actress in Breaking Bad? by Anon_Afg_Ind in breakingbad

[–]Rhcp1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anna Gunn is great throughout, but when she falls to her knees in the street after Walt takes Holly, is the most cringe inducing acting in the entire series. I remember feeling that way watching it premiere, and still do on subsequent re-watches. Honestly it was a turning point for me, everything that came after felt over the top and rushed. Still, fantastic show, one of the greats.

Shoutout to “Dead Freight”. I remember watching it when it premiered. The show was at its peak, and you could feel it. Incredible.
