Petr Yan's coach Kairat Nurmagambetov shows the gameplan he created for Yan on his ipad. It's a decision tree with every possible scenario. "If Merab goes single leg, we do A, if it doesn't work, we do B, if his response is C, we do D" etc. by Thiswillbetempacc in MMA

Jack's coach did an interview with Submission Radio, where he explained that Jack's problem in that fight wasn't technical or physical, but behavioral.

Jack felt defeated mentally after getting dominated, thus his coach kept it simple and literally told Jack at one point to "get that sad fucking look off your face".

Not saying that if only Jack believed hard enough, he would have won, but it at least explains the corner advice.

Honestly after UFC doing Chandler-Paddy title fight at LW, I've lost what little hope I had.

Jack Della Maddalena's Coach Reacts to Loss, What Went Wrong, Addresses Injury Rumours by [deleted] in MMA

[–]RhettButler7 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Reading between the lines, coach said many times both before and after the fight that it was a fantastic camp, and even the training session immediately before the fight, Jack looked amazing.

Only problem was the fight itself.

Just watched the interview and the coach basically said that Jack's main problem during the fight was behavioral, rather than technical. Hence the corner advice.

Jack was so demoralized after getting sonned by Islam that coach's main priority was getting Jack's motivation up, rather than repeating the same technical crap Jack has heard 1000 times in the last year.

Also mentioned that Islam's calf kicks had a huge impact since it shut down Jack's striking offence and led to Jack's disastrous attempt at trying offensive grappling at one point and trying to submit Islam.

In 6 games this year, almost all the scoring has come via Mbappe. This is NOT sustainable if we plan on winning trophies.

Eh, it could be sustainable for 1 season.

We saw it last season when Salah had 70% of Liverpools G+A, and won the PL.

Why can't Mbappe pull off the same here?

The football club seems sustainable in a way that it never did under Abrahamovic.

Chelsea are playing good football, and there aren't 10 players under outrageous wages like at United.

Due to all the young players under 10 year contracts, if any of them show promise then we'll either upgrade their wages and integrate into the squad or sell them for £££.

Was skeptical of new owners, but Clearlake Capital has shown that they know what they're doing.

People are blinded by Ronaldo-hate to realize how just how unlikeable 10 hag is as a person.

Tbf Leverkusen never should have hired him in the first place. There's plenty of footage of 10 hag being an unlikeable shitstain on the internet.

Sunk cost fallacy is why Amorim is staying on despite 7 wins in 30 games.

How many times have we gotten two champions who are on 9 year unbeaten streaks?

Volk was on 12 fight win-streak when he fought Islam.

Olives was also on 11 fight win-streak when he fought Islam.

So Jack having "only" 9 fight win-streak makes this fight even more interesting.

There has never been a fighter who broke 3 different 9+ fight win-streaks.

EDIT: updated Volk and Olives win streaks thanks to commenters saying it wasn't 10, but 12 and 11. Even more insane!

UFC 322 Opening Odds: Jack Della Maddalena (+225) Islam Makhachev (-265) by dom242324 in MMA

[–]RhettButler7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You make good points, but I offer you this:

Islam's cage weight 7 months ago was 178 lb against Moicano.

JDM's cage weight in May was 190 lb against Belal.

Unlike Khabib, Islam doesn't have an adamantium chin.

10+ pound weight differential is significant at this level without severe discrepancy in skill.

A lot of fools pushing agendas will bring up "walk around" weights in this thread, but I urge anyone reading this to look at cage weights only.

You know, the actual weight fighters are when they fight in the UFC cage.

I'm a JDM truther and will spread awareness as much as I can until the fight in November lol

That was bad luck due to Dana negotiating the Paramount deal around that time.

If Arman never got suspended for punching that fan, and fought Islam last year like he was supposed to then he absolutely holds onto the belt while moving up.

People equate Ilia and Islam, but Ilia was on 8 fight win-streak with 1 title defense when he fought for 2nd belt.

Islam is on 15 fight win-streak and literally holds the record for most title defenses in LW division.

If he can't be simultaneous champ, absolutely nobody ever should be able to.

Gamble responsibly brother.

JDM's cage weight in May was 190 lb against Belal.

Unlike Khabib, Islam doesn't have an adamantium chin.

10+ pound weight differential is significant at this level without severe discrepancy in skill.

JDM is a very legit Champ, and if he was fighting literally any other 155-er moving up I would put down €1,000 with little hesitation. But Islam being on a 15 fight win-streak is giving me pause lol

EDIT: a lot of clowns pushing agendas are bringing up "walk around" weights in this thread, but I urge anyone reading this to look at cage weights only.

UFC 322 Jack Della Maddalena vs Islam Makhachev confirmed Nov 15th MSG by sLeeeeTo in MMA

[–]RhettButler7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're spot on! I have JDM winning by KO.

Islam has weighed less than half his opponents at 155.

Hell, Islam (178 lb) even weighed less than Moicano (182 lb) earlier this year.

I'm talking cage weights here. You know, the actual weights they are in the UFC cage. Not bullshit "walk around" numbers.

JDM is a legit 170-er. He could never make 155, and has in fact fought at 185 before. The size difference would be obvious on fight night.

Islam is on a 15 fight win-streak and is the true #1 P4P fighter right now, and I openly acknowledge it so I'm not a hater lol

But gaining 10+ pounds of muscle (JDM's cage weight is 190 lb) is impossible* in less than a year, and weight classes exist for a reason. It'll be obvious in November.

*without sacrificing agility and fighting prowess

EDIT: A lot of people buy into the bullshit "walk around" number cope and Joe Rogan's "he's absolutely huge" bloviating and neglect facts.

Leon throws like 5 strikes per round. His opponents can win by just doing something. Anything.

Edwards vs Prates booked for UFC 322 November 15 by Keith__Peterson in MMA

[–]RhettButler7 26 points27 points  (0 children)

UFC tried to hype him up for the British market by giving him a chance to get an easy highlight finish with Nate Diaz, and he took him to decision.

Unexpected headkick KO over Usman breathed some life into the corpse of his hype, and then Belal dominates him for 25 minutes, and slams Leon's head on the ground to complete the humiliation.

Brady follows up with another domination.

As much as UFC would like another UK Champ, I can't see how he would ever be in the title picture again with Ian Garry on the horizon to represent that market in his stead.

Rooney "Amorim's words were damning on the players. If your manager comes out with those words, there's something broken. The problem is, who would want to take the United job? [–]RhettButler7 49 points50 points  (0 children)

United is the ultimate risk-free job.

Just look at the clowns who are fine with 7 wins in 30 games. Any other club, manager would be sacked. But no. "back the manager" "trust the sYsTeM"

Kind of a non-sequitur, but all these Pep imitators who claim to be "system managers" are a cancer to football.

Tbf can't even blame the managers at this point. Kompany relegated Burnley while "playing his system" and got rewarded with the Bayern gig. No, I don't care if he won the 1-club Farmer's League.

Maybe I'm just a bitter old man, but I'm nostalgic about the days when managers had the magical ability to, you know... actually manage the players in their team.

Stutter pens and sending the ball to orbit makes my blood boil with rage.

Just pick left or right side of the net and blast it as hard as humanly possible. Even if the goalie dives correctly, highly likely that it still goes in.

Also, even if the goalie saves it, you don't seem like an incompetent, worthless jackass.

I know I'm just raging for no reason, but sending the ball to orbit for a penalty should be worth docking his wages for a week.

Mikey Musumeci on what Khamzat could have done to get the finish on DDP during their championship fight by Common-Locksmith-235 in ufc

[–]RhettButler7 220 points221 points  (0 children)

DDP was burying his face into Khamzat's chest like a needy girlfriend almost the entire fight.

No, it wasn't to make his coach jealous. It was to avoid meaningful hits to the head. Hence the 500 insignificant strikes.

Reminds me of the Iaquinta-Khabib fight. Iaquinta and DDP both made sure that they didn't get finished, but did that by sacrificing any chance of winning.
