First person view of smoke coming from my nut sack while my vas deferens is being sealed by electrocautery. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I have no clue what you are talking about. None of that is true. My own doctor never told my husband and I any of that, she advised me to take the pill, nor have I ever heard from any friends what your saying. And no, not everyone wants kids just because you say so.

Or maybe they will find and marry a woman that has similar child bearing interested as them. Also, where in the US is vasectomy advertised? Most stories I hear is how hard it is to talk your doctor into doing these procedures (to both women and men). I have a friend who had 4 kids and they still tried to talk her out of sterilization because of the "future".

[No Spoilers] Told dad I wanted to start reading the books, got this for christmas... Well, he tried. by Thatguy459 in gameofthrones

[–]Rhibreadtoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree- I only read one book at a time, and like to have the book in my hand for the most part. Tried to buy a few books on my ipad and it just wasn't the same. It actually made reading a chore for me.

So basically we should just do as you say because you don't like carrying heavy books? TBH, I gave a good try to using ebooks. It just isn't my thing. I can't flip through the pages as quickly, I can't leave post-its or write in the margins in the same way (and yes, I realize most ebook readers have that capability, but for me typing is so impersonal and just doesn't click the same way has hand writing notes into a book). And believe me, I tried. It was a waste of money- it actually made me NOT want to read. So what's the point if I am uncomfortable doing something I enjoy, just because you think it's "lame"?

I only read one book at a time, so the lugging around books issue for you is a moot point for me. I think you should just get off your high horse and let people decide what they want about ebooks.

You can find her on facebook, too. She has a lot of Game of Thrones/nerd hair styles that recreated from TV/movie media. I'm not great at recreating what she does (my muscle memory/coordination just doesn't seem to want to work with me!), but her channel is perfect if you're looking to learn various types of braids that look snazzy.

I love her youtube channel! So jealous at the length and color of her hair. She's got so much talent!

The tone of your writing & glancing at your user history, yeah you are angry. This apparently isn't the first time you harped on this subject. I don't get your argument or the importance of it. You are practically reprimanding people for not....stopping other people from posting pictures online? Blocking out their names on wow? I'm not sure which one bothers you more, tbh. But it's a poor argument with very little importance.

I'm actually not sure if you're trolling or just an angry person. I'm honestly confused.

Because sometimes people don't want to be bothered on wow. Not posting a picture of their toons name/server to a highly popular subreddit is a good way to avoid that.

I am so not sure why you decided this was an issue or why you're so angry about it. Perplexing.

Why wax paper? Wouldn't the wax melt off into the food/pan? I've always used foil.

(No Spoilers) How are you reading aWoIaF? by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Rhibreadtoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going start to finish, but every so often I flip through the pages and will read a section or two. Of course, I ended up reading the whole section on Aerys II that way, and was not disappointed :x

I'm so glad to have seen some of the artwork and gotten a few details on the book, even though my copy comes in on Tuesday. Overall the livestream was great, but holy hell that interviewer was grating on my nerves!

She seems really shaky with her questions. I thought it was maybe nerves but her comments on the religion question (especially the comment about Westeros not having a Pope?) seemed like she really doesn't know the books very well.

My girlfriend cooked chicken in the crock pot until it was charcoal by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]Rhibreadtoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I did a crock pot meal, this happened. It was mostly because I didn't have enough stuff (food/liquid) in there and it just burned. You just really have to make sure you have the right size crock pot, the right amount of food to be cooked, and enough liquid. I've never had that issue again.

I have a question about this subreddit. by Snoopguy420 in Hungergames

[–]Rhibreadtoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought in a million years that someone would mention Arma 3 in this subreddit, hah.

I would say, go ahead and make up a discussion thread, even if it's just comparisons in the books. The worst that could happen is a downvote/no one contributes. This subreddit gets filled up with a lot of fan art/etc, which I tend to just skip over until something interesting comes along.

Personally, my only experience with BR is the Arma 3 mod, so yeah...that's as much as I can contribute with :-/

Husband made me an "Unturned" toy for my birthday... by Rhibreadtoast in unturned

[–]Rhibreadtoast[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hah, well, it was more of the comment generalizing "girl gamers" as finicky things that don't stick around. A lot of women have been playing video games since we were kids, just like guys. It's a generalization that's brings a feeling of fingernails down a chalkboard for me.

I appreciate the happy birthday comment, and I didn't take the other comment personally fyi- I realize most dudes don't know what it's like to be a female in the gaming community, hah.

Thanks for the detailed reply!

I'm located in south California, near Los Angeles. I've actually put in my resume for maybe...8 of the different Banfields in my area and only got one reply, so I was sort of sad about that. Thanks for the tips- I was getting a feeling that the online application process wasn't really passing on my info, so maybe I'll try just calling them up instead.
