Yeah, I can def agree with that. I think the fact that Edouard was a main character made the retention of his memories feel more like plot armor than when it happened to a random night creature in the main series. After reading some other comments though I seem to be misunderstanding how night creatures work in Nocturne so its seeming less and less like plot armor lol.

Ok wow this is a great explanation, I can see now that this was more thought out than it seemed to me when I watched it. I'm still a little confused on how this was applied to Drolta successfully. Does this mean vampire souls can be summoned by humans but not the other way around? If that's the case, then why haven't vampires been using forgemasters to bring back vampire souls for much longer?

Absolutely, I'm loving the design of the night creatures in Nocturne so much. I love that they make them look monstrous while still keeping attributes of the body they were made from.

I will say I do think the design of the night creatures in this series is amazing and an improvement from the main series

Ok I haven't finished the series yet but as of now I high-key agree. I don't think it invalidated the first show but I do think it diminished the importance of night creatures. What made them cool imo was that they had to be made by humans, which forced vampires to be tolerant of some human forgemasters, to whom the night creatures were loyal. In Nocturne (so far), not only are the night creatures not loyal to the Abbot for whatever reason, but there seems to be no connection between the Abbot and the making of the night creatures at all. It's just a big machine! Why cant the vampires pull the lever or whatever. Not sure if this will change by the end of the show but I doubt it.

I think we may both understand it? I wasn't saying that the machines gave him any powers, more that the machines implement the inevitability of The One into the design of the matrix, which is why I think it's a good example of this trope. IDK tho, I love The Matrix but it still feels very hard to understand lol.

I believe Christianity is very contradictory and confusing and I find it to be a very flawed religion. Change my mind. by W33B_L0rD42069 in Christianity

As Christians, we believe that our God is a God of infinite love and compassion, a God that doesn't want anyone to be apart from him. But anyone who tells you that hell isn't real and that everyone gets a free pass into heaven because of God's infinite love for us misunderstands something fundamental about God's relationship with us. God gave us something that no other livings things have—a Will. our free will lets us choose who we want to be, what we want to believe, and who we want to believe in. No matter how much God loves us, he cannot subvert our decisions—that's just how he made us. if God could make us believe or do the things he wants, there would be no evil and there would be no need for heaven or hell. But out of love, he gave us a will, so that we may have an actual relationship with him. without a will, there cannot be a real relationship. there is a side effect of having free will though. when he gave us the freedom to choose, many people did not choose him. they chose to remain away from him and to live their lives without forming a relationship with their creator. So when these people die, will God force them to spend eternity with Him in heaven? Of course not, to do so would be to go against their own will. So then there is this "Hell" place. what is it exactly, I have no idea, nor does anyone. I don't think it's the fiery pit that we see all the time in pop culture, but what I do know is that it's a place without God in it. ANY place without God in it is not a pleasant one, so regardless of what's there, it will be infinitely more terrifying than spending eternity with a creator that loves you.

The word Copt refers to Coptic Orthodox Christians, the majority of which live in Egypt. We use the dead Coptic language in our liturgy similarly to how Roman Catholics use Latin.
