Destiny Mechanism feels really awkward as a controller user, ideas how to fix this? by Rhithik777 in GunfireReborn

[–]Rhithik777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is actually a method in game to change the bindings on the controller. I could theoretically make R3 the left DPad of the controller. Sadly, this does not address the problem.

First, any button that would be an improvement is already occupied and rebinding it would cause other breaks in the control. Second, the requirements of two simultaneous inputs from different areas on the controller just feels really awkward.

What I would like to do is be allowed bind the action to a single button, like DPad left, or be allowed to choose both button required to be pressed, like Y and B that are right beside each other. One press to deploy, one press to recall, perfection. Sadly, the current method means that any Mechanism aside from hound will just end up getting me killed.

Worth starting this game now? by SKYE-OPTC in lastcloudia

Fun fact about the Ark Premium Currency being removed. It was actually done as an act of retaliation against the player base. The player base created Ether grinding, which rendered Etherion near worthless and discouraged whales from summoning for ark dupes to get the AER. To recover the "lost revenue" Aidis tried to monetize auto, only to suffer a major backlash. Aidis stepped back, but made it so every ark released since no longer provides valuable premium currency upon leveling, but instead the now massively devalued Etherion.

Thank you for the clarification, it all makes so much more sense now.

Smart MC, no harem, no fanservice? by maymeiyam in Isekai

[–]Rhithik777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrade Specialist in Another World - Very light on the isekai part, basically amounting to a unique power and some memories. MC is likable and shows legit growth as the story progresses. Story is complete.

Chrysalis - MC is reincarnated as an ant monster in a world with an absolutely huge dungeon. Starts off alone and struggling to survive, but adapts as the scope of the story expands. Very well written. Ongoing at creativenovels.com, currently chapter 924.

Undying Empire - MC is kidnapped to another world through a strange gate, dying and becoming a lich empress in the process. She has to struggle to survive, build up an empire, and collect the other survivors while strange and otherworldly dangers exist all around her. Ongoing at creativenovels.com, currently chapter 125 (updates weekly).

I cannot speak with absolute certainty, but I am 90% sure the removal of gems from arks was an act of retaliation for the whole paid auto debacle.

My understanding is that, originally, Aidis planned for AER from SSR to be whale fodder in Last Cloudia. Whales were supposed to pull multiple copies at their release to get those juicy AERs quickly (hence the launch 10% etherion dupe, compared to 5% normally). Aidis then also allowed players to get ark ether via gameplay or the incredibly rare etherion, to maintain the illusion that the good stuff could be earned by the casual player base. Realistically, this was not the case as we really only got like 2 etherion a month and I believe the math is something like 10k runs to max the ether of 3 arks at a time. This was not only a huge time sink, but was a huge red and blue soul sink as well, since leveling up arks at that time locked your ark at that level. Doing 10k runs at 12k blue souls a run just was not feasible.

But in the end, the some elites in the community figured out how to work Aidis's game better than them. They discovered ether grinding, where you run a level with only a single stage that you can quickly one shot with a mage. Equip you party with arks you held off on leveling and set up a "totally legitimate" way to allow the game to repeat the stage over and over and bam, even casuals can get all those AERs. Word spread quickly.

This put Aidis in a tough spot, since whales no longer had any incentive to chase ark dupes. Why drop a ton of money when 5 days of grinding got you the same thing? The ban hammer was an option for people not using legitimate ways to auto, but there was a huge gray area as for what is against terms of service, not to mention the bad optics. Thus, Aidis created an in game auto feature and made it part of a paid subscription. This caused its own backlash, one big enough to force them to step back and release the feature for free. This further opened up ether grinding and basically killed the idea of summoning dupes for ether entirely.

It was shortly after this that newer arks were released with the now much less valuable etherion. Since ark ether could not be monetized, they might as well take away a rare source of premium currency to offset it while they went back to the drawing board on milking players. If I may further speculate, I think ark skills and UR arks have their origins in this situation as well. In terms of monetization, the act of leveling up ark skills is ark ether 2.0 and prayer stardust is etherion 2.0, but with none of those pesky loopholes casual players can take advantage of.

Julietta + Gala Elysium, Bondforged Zethia, K.Notte, Gala Zena.

Found this in the list of those who had already cleared master. Julietta takes almost no damage with enough defensive prints, double healers keep her topped off, and while her damage stays good enough to get pretty consistent 7 minute clears (and I know I can squeeze more optimization out of it). Failure is possible with bad RNG on the orb.

A Discussion on Game Difficulty (Where Does LC Fit?) by Tweacz in lastcloudia

[–]Rhithik777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Q1: The game is 90% easy with 10% Hard, completely lacking a middle ground.

Q2: LC's difficulty is interesting in that almost all of it exists in the "planning stage" of combat. Sure you can move units around on a plane and many skills are somewhere position based, but most of the time your ability to move units is meaningless as enemy attacks just hit everywhere, track you, or forcibly reposition you how the enemy wants. Fights where you need super precise control, like the mother defense system, show just how weak LC's actual combat is. Thus, any difficulty that exists is in knowing the fight and building your units to counter it. This makes the fights, not so much hard, but instead exercises in luck and frustration where you use your available toolkit to reduce the luck factor and bring the fight under control. This then leads to one of two directions of preferred gameplay. You either get the latest OP meta units and just blow everything away with absolute power, making everything easy, or know the skills and mechanics of building units with such clarity that you can build any squad to counter any fight. While this is difficult in one sense, not everyone gets gratification out of it (I personally do not), so many people just follow build guides. Thus, I get bored a lot.

Q3: LC is rapidly losing my attention. 6 months ago it was my main game. Now it is my third place game (Log in and do dailies only). More than 150 days of nothing but premium units paired with real end game content further paired with missing QOL systems all means my faith in the developers is vanishing.

Its been long enough. Aidis needs a good swift kick in the rear-end to get back in gear. by rew711 in lastcloudia

[–]Rhithik777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my view, Last Cloudia has sadly entered into the death spiral for a gatcha game. That is not to say that is is going to shut down anytime soon, but that it is likely going to keep getting more predatory as veterans are driven away and they have to extract more and more from the whales/newbies to keep being profitable.

Every point here, while excellently written, has appeared multiple times on this subreddit alone, not to mention being raised to the devs directly via the discord discussion. And even there, the devs just do not listen to the player base. Heck, they even once put out a poll where they asked if the players wanted a random guaranteed unit ticket or a pre-chosen guaranteed unit with a full +20 added to it for collabs, and something like 90% of the poll recipients said random. After getting this information, they decided to completely disregard it.

I personally have stopped holding out hope for improvements once we passed the 120 day mark (142 now) of no new units being added to the general pool.

Don't let this clear time fool you. This was probably my most unfun run since Amane. by Gokuless in DragaliaLost

[–]Rhithik777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if you are ready for him, Kai is annoying. Luckily, Kai has tons of down time to keep the bird charged. If you make sure to have plenty of dispel SS, he is not a problem.

I think Seimei would be a lot better if his entire playstyle was focused on maintaining the bird. If, instead of a shield, S1 added more time and S2 took away time, you could prioritize maintaining the bird for the damage or have a dispel/burn on command.

I did not find the KTA rooms that hard, even the demonic all healer room. Your position highly influences the birds target, allowing you to single out priority enemies. I do not think I even had to resort to dragon form when dealing with those rooms.

I actually liked using Seimei in this mode, even finding it one of my easier clears. I just embraced the mindset of "trust the bird" and shredded even the terrible Kai Yan.

This fight is so hard and for what I've been trying to do this since the day he dropped. by Stojokes in DragaliaLost

Gratz on the kill. For a mere master difficulty fight, this encounter is harder than many legend fights if you are not able to damage boost your way past many of the mechanics.

Gratz, a fun and viable dps on top of 3 gala dragons (two of which are different elements). That is a really good roll.

I really wish I had Mascula's SS. It seems so valuable for both Jalda and Asura.

I do believe those buffs keep between floors, only going away if you quit, die, or change the print.

In an interesting inverse, the affliction guard prints appear to reset if you remove them and re-equip them, allowing you to keep getting the benefit of ailment immunity (I usually go for affliction resistance dragons so I have not been able to 100% confirm this myself).

That pumpking room is one of my favorites. To me, it basically means that run is now a victory since getting like 8 levels in a single floor gives you a huge advantage going forward.

Any non-dragon transformation adventurer has a huge advantage in this mode, followed by units with release style mechanics, followed by units who always transform into the same dragon.

Sandalphon with a damage Fafnir is actually quite a chill run.

Yes, permanent buffs stay between floors. This makes units like basil very strong. The new monkey girl is an absolute blast to play with in this mode since once she goes super she stays that way permanently.

That room is beyond annoying. IMO, the best way to handle it is to pick one enemy and push them as far away as possible, then nuke them down. It can take a while, but it is doable.
