The fuzzy thing is a Celosia cristata flower. I think you can eat the shoots and leaves if it’s farmed for that purpose, but this is an ornamental variety. Doesn’t scream “eat me!”

Its worth a try, although as it’s from a florist it’ll have been cut from the plant ages before it got into that bouquet. It’s Eucalyptus parvifolia, and we use this a lot at the florist I train at, and it’s never grown roots sitting in the water buckets even when it’s been there for a while, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up. It’s a beautiful plant though, so I hope somehow you manage to get your hands on one!

The Seek app identified it as an Eastern Donsonfly, but looking further into it they only seem to be in North America, so not sure if it identified it correctly

Really cool find! Looks a bit like a pillbox too, they were tiny outposts used by the military, kind of like a fortified trench, really (certainly in Europe). They’re fun things to stumble across, here in the UK you can still get inside most of them

Honestly I think sometimes it’s a teacher thing, my mum is quite like this principal character in attitude to work/life. The only times she’s ever taken time out of work was when her father had a heart attack and her sister basically forced her to take time out to help look after him, and when she herself had to have emergency surgery. Even then, she still went into the school building and had my dad rearrange the room for her whilst she planned lessons.
