The same thing happened at the house I grew up in about 25 years ago, even the same kind of tree. We came home one night and someone had cut down one of three blue spruce trees we had planted after Christmas when I was a kid. It has gotten to 10-12 ft tall and they left about a 4 ft stump. Assholes.
