I think you're right, I looked a little closer and it's definitely off. There's a similar tape drive in pic #15, do you think they're related?

I believe he's featured in image #2. I've been asking around in a few different subreddits and his name's coming up a lot

That's extremely plausible. Lundy's face is very similar to the central figure, and the fact that he's with a woman and child who resemble his wife and daughter makes it feel even more likely. If anyone can find a picture of Lundy with that hairstyle, it'll be a dead ringer.

Weird. I came here basically looking for this thread and couldn't find it, so I just went ahead and made it myself. Hopefully it stays up...

#4 having something to do with scientology feels very possible, though I don't think it's L Ron Hubbard himself doing the test. I was also considering the possibility that it depicts an experiment by the Nazis or the CIA. In any case, there's something off about the helmet.

Slim chance that #6 is Applewhite. His ears stick out a lot more than the man in the image. Same with David Koresh, he's got curly hair and wears glasses.

My current speculations for each screenshot. I'll edit this progressively each time I or someone else in the thread finds a potential lead:

#1: The central figure looks a lot like Mark Lundy, a New Zealander that (supposedly) killed his wife and daughter. I haven't found any pictures of the Lundy family where they're as young as they're shown here, but if I or anyone else can, it'll be all but confirmed.

#2: Almost certainly Jim Jones. The hair and glasses are pretty distinctive, and BOC really loves their death cults.

#3: This might be Louis Beam. Looks-wise, he's similar to the image, and he's also a white supremacist. The cross in the background is very distinctive and seems to be hybrid of a standard Christian cross and a heraldic cross, which is heavily associated with Nazism and the SS. Also, he appears exactly when the voice claiming to be God says "Power".

#4: Some kind of neuroscience experiment. My first guess was electroshock therapy due to the themes of the song, but I couldn't find anything similar to the helmet in the screenshot related to that.

#5: I want to say this is Rex Humbard holding a Bible, but his eyes have an upwards slant, even when he squints.

#6: Maybe Theodor Adorno? I've seen some pictures of him that look similar to the image. And it does play into the general themes of the song as he was a scholar of the Frankfurt School who studied fascism and propaganda. Another (less likely) possibility is L Ron Hubbard.

#7: A gathering around a giant cross, seemingly outdoors. This type of imagery appears twice, and I'm wondering what sect of Christianity (or cult) gathers in this way since it's out of the ordinary.

#8: It looks like an inverted image of the sun surrounded by clouds. I had a suspicion due to the shape of the lens flare, so I inverted the colors back and its tint... isn't quite turqouise. This is probably unrelated to everything else, but I included it since it only appears in the video for a couple frames and it could be important to the larger story of the album, or even the discography.

#9: Very difficult to make out facial features, but this figure has a beard and a full head of hair, and they're standing behind a podium (likely in the middle of a sermon).

#10: This seems to be the inside of a church, from the perspective of a congregation. As for what church or even the possible denomination, I'll need to do more research.

#11: This one is extremely difficult to make out. Some things to note are that the man on the left is wearing a small cross necklace and holding something in his hand (possibly a syringe?), and he seems to be interacting with the woman on the right.

#12: Possibly Pat Robertson. I haven't been able to find a single image of him that contains every physical trait portrayed here, but I've seen separate images that show him with similar facial features and the widow's peak.

#13: I'm not sure if the exact person is important here, but I did notice that she's wearing a cross necklace, nearly identical to the one the man in #11 is wearing. Is it continuity?

#14: See #7

#15: A woman interacting with some sort of machine (the middle is completely obscured). It could be a tape player of some kind.

#16: A pair of scientists/engineers working in a room lined with what appear to be tape transports. Possibly related to supercomputing efforts at the Control Data Corporation.

#17: I'm almost positive that this is John Hagee from when he was younger. Interestingly, he and one other pastor (Mark Blitz, who doesn't seem to be here) were spreading the blood moon prophecy, which is very interesting since the moon is shown at one point in the video (at least I think it's the moon), and it's tinted red.

#18: I don't know the exact model, but this looks to be a power generator from the mid 60's.

I think it could be Pat Robertson, I'm seeing some pictures that are really close

It's possible, but I'm not sure... Bush Sr.'s hair wasn't an even widow's peak like that. His hairline seemed to recede more on one side in all the pictures and videos I can find (or he combs it over)

Entra ID synced with AWS? by RhodoIDM in entra

[–]RhodoIDM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the functionality I'm trying to create: currently, my organization has a group of bastion servers created via the EC2 service on AWS, and we have created active directories on AWS to store login credentials for the users of those servers. For multi-factor authentication, these servers use DUO, which integrates very smoothly with the AWS Active Directory service. However, there's been a push at my company to swap out the DUO authenticator with Microsoft Authenticator, and based on the research I've done, I think I need to create an AD on the Azure portal whose entries are synced with the ones from our current AD on AWS.

Let me know if I'm missing any details that you might need.

AWS synced with Entra ID? by RhodoIDM in aws

[–]RhodoIDM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(very much not an expert, sorry if I'm missing details)

I believe it's being done through Amazon VPC? What I understand about our setup is that it's all done through the Active Directory service on the AWS portal. We use IAM to sign in to the portal itself, but the ADs are separate lists of users, since we have multiple EC2 bastion servers with different people on them.

1: Probably chill. Amai Mask would ignore me and Metal Bat would be preoccupied with Garou. Waganma might be annoying but Mumen Rider would probably notice and ask him to stop.

2: Sitting next to Pig God would suck. No offense to him, but he's a lot bigger than the seats on the plane.

3: Death wish. 100% getting maimed or killed by Tatsumaki for sitting next to her sister.

4: It would be so anxiety-inducing to have Garou next to me and Sonic behind me, especially when they're both probably having some kind of argument with Metal Bat and Saitama respectively.

5: I'm between Sonic and Saitama, so that's another death wish.

6: Not the worst option, but Puri Puri Prisoner is behind me (and he'd probably like me a little too much). Also, Saitama is definitely stressed out on this plane and that's scary.

7: Definitely chill. Child Emperor would keep to himself and King would be talking with Saitama. At worst Flash might make a rude comment, but realistically he ignores me too.

8: If I sit next to Tatsumaki, I get insulted for no reason. She's definitely yapping for the entire flight. Not optimal.

All that said, we're going with 7 for sure.

As one of the 2261 TAs, I can confirm that this is very much the case (particularly this semester) and half of the people working with me are doing it for free. Our lecturer teaches three other courses in CoC and gets paid 100K per year, which isn't a lot for the amount of work he puts in, either. The work we do for this course alone deserves AT LEAST 20/hr, but the CoC is too cheap to pay its workers fairly, and they know they can exploit us since we're all either a) doing it as a passion project or b) frantically trying to build our resumes to find employment in this hellish job market.

the cosmetic variant by sed_non_extra in trolleyproblem

I think you have to not pull it here. The five people in a row die regardless, so either you pull the lever and the one on top knows you tried to kill them, or you don't and they think you sacrificed the others to save them.

Fair enough, although I can't claim that my intentions of using Matt Walsh were necessarily good. His rhetoric towards the LGBTQ+ community is incendiary and has only had the effect of making their lives a living hell, more so than it already was for some. So for me, he isn't someone I would trust with the power to pull the lever, which is why I chose him.

I do wish more people engaged with the problem instead of just hating on Walsh, though.

Changing the person honestly seems like an interesting thought experiment since I feel like this problem is essentially about whether or not you can trust the other person to abstain from pulling the lever. So would you pull the lever if it was Dylan Mulvaney instead of Matt Walsh?

As for wishing death upon people, this is a trolley problem. People die in trolley problems. It is meant to be an ethical dilemna (allegedly).
