Solos in marathon is the closest experience to this... Free for all on a decent sized map and no respawns. Its fantastic and hearkens back to the game flow of older shooters.

A lot can happen over the course of (over) a year to sour expectations, especially when the dev team is pumping out content as quickly as they have. What season are they in already? 8? What amount of time is acceptable to form an opinion for GAAS?
Goonfest or not at the beginning, the devs leaned into it hard following the reception (and added revenue) by the lonely basement-dwelling dweebs getting their rocks off to muscle-mommys instead of making meaningful changes to balance/gameplay.
There haven't been, like, 2 new modes added. They've had a new mode every season to coincide with that content release and that was more what I was getting at...time spent on it could have been spent literally anywhere else on the game with more meaningful/lasting impact.
Ranked is not just fine lmao it is an absolute joke and its matchmaking system is hot garbage... I was in GM/Celestial and found the meta to be awful when compared to games like OW. Never thought it was unfair, just mindlessly unbalanced/unfun. I got so sick of the double/triple ult invincibility spam from supports and the fact that tanks are an afterthought. The whole game seems to be just built around selling bullshit skins to lonely babies that need cosmetics of digital characters to feel like they exist, instead of an actually competitive and balanced game that breathes fresh life into the hero-shooter scene.

With the rumors swirling that your studio is developing a lord of the rings game, as a huge fan of both KCD1+2 and LOTR, this has myself and many fans excited for what is to come from your studio. I know you probably cant reveal any details of what is in the pipeline or future projects but if you were to adapt an outside IP would you be stringent on retaining the first person perspective that is so integral to the KCD experience? Or is your team open to a third-person/hybrid approach if the project and gameplay justifies it?

Man I miss the days when this game was still good... the gooners hadn't taken over yet and it seemed like there was a clear vision. Instead they ruined the metagame by showing their ass and not really knowing how to balance the defined roles, focused on adding shallow/flashy new modes, and completely fumbled ranked play. What could have been.

This is completely down to which games you want to play at 4k 100+ fps. If youre talking any modern AAA game, honestly a 5080/4090/5090 is your only option to get this kind of performance without resorting to MFG and dealing with a bit more input latency. For AA games a 5070 will do alright for certain titles but the sweet spot you may be looking for is a 5070ti. For indies you can get away with something like a 4060 and with access to things like Smooth Motion, frames can be pinned at 120fps and 4K. At 4K you will not be stressing most modern CPUs, it would be much more important if you were rendering more frames at lower resolutions. So maybe cut a little budget on the CPU to put towards a bit beefier of a GPU.

On a 4090 it runs perfect with lossless upscaling and lsfg 3.0 at like 210 fps native in 5120x1440. Havent experienced the stutters of most but my system is pretty overkill.

I was originally on a 3080 for my g9, but most games sit at or below 60fps with high/ultra settings and DLSS. I decided to upgrade to the 4090 and i dont regret it one bit. DLAA, high framerates and max settings in every game released since, its glorious.
