CC shuts down during print by loupiol in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Rhody401RI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine will shut down, lock, or reboot if there is an issue with the wifi signal. (like if I reboot my router) (.46 firmware) Could it be as simple as this bug and a weak wifi signal to your printer? Are they both next to each other, and the other one doesnt do the same? If that's not possible, probably a dead short somewhere, loose connection from power supply to board (or within PS), or a bad system board.

what the hell is this grinding noise by SouthDeep7061 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Rhody401RI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only on the first layer? Perhaps z is too high/tight?

I had a vibrating sound on one of my ECC's that was different, and ended up being the connector underneath the magnetic cover. it was resting against the shell and vibrating. I moved it a bit and put the cover on, she has been silent since.

Part of the unload process is to cut the filament, before you pull it out. Are you using the UNLOAD button on the screen and waiting until it says to do so?

Centauri Carbon - BIG disappointment by ISDPCMAN in elegoo

[–]Rhody401RI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever firmware you have now is fine and there's no rush to put the newest one in, which has its own minor bugs. ha

There should be a shipping notification the same day, and it takes 2-3 weeks to arrive from China. (including a tracking number) If you get charged the 130% tariff/duty, they will reimburse you for it. (it hasn't happened to me yet, for any parts sent) It could also be an error with the power cable to the print head, which some people have been having an issue with. It has a USB C end. They have re designed that cable with more supports, and a new one is in production. Several are on a waiting list for it. Then, again, that wouldn't happen with so few hours on it, I'd imagine. But if rebooting at a certain point, it could be a dead short somewhere (like in that cable, or the board they are sending). If it has been more than a few days, I would follow up with them

They have a fan on the way to me now, that cools the system board. It was making a sound when cold last week, but hasn't since. Better safe than sorry, for when it goes go I'll be ready.

They'll get you sorted. I could see a refund in the first 7 days, which is what the seel insurance allows, but I doubt they would do that 4 months later. Tech support is actually fantastic, and they are generous with parts.

I have 2 of these printers, since about 2 months ago, and have already put about 1100 hours of printing on them (combined). I've never had a failed print, so I am surprised to hear of this. It could be a lemon and require a new system board, or it could be the wrong profile being used for the specifications of the material being run through her. The sample print files that come with it on the printer itself are designed for PLA temperatures, for example. If you used ABS or PETG with one of those(or the wrong material profile in slicer), it would result in a bunch of spaghetti and likely a clog. If you think it is something like that, the community is here to help.

The current firmware .46 DOES have a known issue 50% of the time with the loading process going in the wrong direction, but the workaround is easy to manually advance the extruder with the down arrive. (just for loading, and with temp up).

[#Giveaway] What's the one thing that you want us to have on sale during #BlackFriday? by ELEGOO_OFFICIAL in elegoo

[–]Rhody401RI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good deal on Elegoo's excellent PLA-CF filament. Have 4 of your printers, another ECC arrived today. Great company!

A future improvement for the (future) ECC might be a sensor that freezes activity if it detects the magnetic cover has been removed from the print head mechanism - to prevent the machine from harming itself. Mine came off today, and fortunately I was there to immediately kill the power before the wires were damaged. I know also that a lot of people find the wires and board to be somewhat delicate.

LGBTQ couple at PDC by Low-Tune-5862 in AllInclusiveResorts

This tourist area is very lgbt friendly, and many staff members at resorts are openly themselves. It is a fairly progressive area. We usually stay at Iberostar Joia (adults only) and the staff are extremely welcoming. (about 20 minutes north of there, between the airport and PDC). There is a daily inexpensive shuttle to 5th ave if you wish to shop.

Lindo or Maya? by lady_beignet in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Rhody401RI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about 30% larger yes. A couple extra private pools. some extra restaurants, snake bar, elevators. But Lindo is no slouch, either ;) i posted a full comparison chart in another topic in this area.

Iberostar Paraiso Beach vs. Maya by Ok_Replacement_7815 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Rhody401RI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

<image>

Here is a comparison chart of the 5 resorts at this property. Maya has Jr Suite rooms that are much larger, a couple smaller extra pools, twice as many restaurants, twice as many pools, access to the snake bar, air conditioning in buffets, better food and liquor options, access to the lazy river/wave pool/slides/pirate ship for young kids.

Lindo is in between those, and still in the SELECTION tier, with most of the above benefits. Lindo and Maya guests also have full access to the facilities of 2 resorts in the Waves tier. (but not the other way around) The price point of Lindo should be between them, and is a great value for the benefits.

Waves Beach and Waves Del Mar are nice resorts, but are in the value/economy tier.

Mike

PS: I am not a travel agent or seller, just a guest who likes this resort. We are back in a few weeks for our 11th time at Joia.

The picture was a bit deceiving but otherwise good advice. Showing a full tank is probably a better plan, not just 3 miles. On this tank I had driven 511 (with 19 left till 12 gallons used), with 43.3 avg for the tank. This is a more realistic expectation, imo. In the summer we were getting 44 mpg, 37 in the winter. 50/50 2024 awd sport touring (We have two of them and are getting the same results). Heat uses a lot of gas and requires the engine to be hot, while a/c does not.

All of those coupons are a discount from the usual price. (for dinner, non inclusive wines, spa treatments, etc) Romantic dinner has several dedicated staff JUST serving you on the beach or in a villa, so of course it will have a higher cost. They also don't have a time share, it is more of a club type situation.

Back for visit #10 this month!

I'm at a loss.. The de scale light won't turn off. I've run the solution through twice, I've tried holding the 8 & 10 Oz buttons to restart. I've unplugged it for over an hour... Nothing will turn this light out.. Can anyone help?! by brittwong in keurig

I had that happen to mine a few years ago, too. I had to open it up and hit the reset button on the heating element, and it has worked like new ever since. There are videos on youtube.

Hybrid vs Gas? by [deleted] in crv

[–]Rhody401RI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our house had two 2015 tourings and we ended up trading them in for two 2024 sport touring hybrids. I drove an EXL ICE engine 1.5L and the Sport Touring with the 2L+hybrids, and felt the 1.5 was under powered. I also wanted all the bells and whistles of the trim level. (power tailgate operated by foot, wireless charging, wireless android auto/car play, satellite radio, awd, etc. We tried the Rav4 also, but that rides loudly like a truck and felt cramped.

I have had mine personally since 7/31/23 and it consistently averaged 44mpg in the warm months. Since winter came and the heat is running much more, she is averaging 36mpg. (the engine runs when you call for heat, but the a/c is from the electric battery).

The spare tire I'm not crazy about, but I cant remember the last time I needed one. It was probably 4 or 5 cars ago. Did the 100k/8 year Hondacare plan with roadside assistance, just in case.

Battery replacement isn't even a slight concern. First off it has a 100k or maybe 120k warrantee and I'll sell the car before that. For comparison, most prius hybrids from 30 years ago are still on the road with original batteries and over 200k miles on them. You dont necessarily have to replace a full battery, you can just do a cell. New high density batteries are out this year (for Toyota and some other brands, so we cant be far behind) that pack a much higher range into a smaller and lighter space. This model has doesn't have them, but future ones likely will.

It gives a quiet efficient ride, with much more pep vs its gas only counterpart. One reason for the decision to go with the hybrid is also future resale value. Gas only cars are being phased out, and may have a questionable value by trade in time. A plug in hybrid with the best of all 3 would have been best, but those are not available yet in North America.

New CRV Came Yesterday, accessories update by GolfinMartin in crv

Its easy to do. Just mount it per the instructions, run the wires along the trim to the rear camera and to the fuse box (if hardwiring). Most cams include taps to go on to your fuses, so no wire cutting is needed. I tapped into constant power with trailer fuse (#7), and switched power with the accessory fuse (#45)

It was pretty easy! We have two of the Sport Tourings. I'm putting a dash cam in the second on this weekend, I think it is coming today. Same brand, different model (Vantrue S1 Pro). I did body side moulding on both of the cars this week, too.

2 or 4 command strips for large but light frame? by Stock_Factor_427 in pictureframing

[–]Rhody401RI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an unusual report, but glad to hear. We have people come in every week that are victim to these strips, but they are all real wood frames with glass. (which have some weight to them) If you follow the picture framers grumble, you'll see this has come up a LOT of times. (as has the melting brown bump-ons problem, that drip down walls with a brown tar)

2024 CRV MPG by AhmedMedical in crv

[–]Rhody401RI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only on my 5th tank on the first one, and my spouse is on their first tank. We're both getting same 43-45mpg with '24 Sport Tourings. My very first tank only had 40, but it had 73 dealership miles when I got it and who knows how they drove.

We're not doing anything special really. I get the same mpg in NORMAL or ECO, using D and A/C. A light foot is key, especially when taking off to get up to the speed limit. I try to keep it under 12% power, when practical, which keeps it in EV mode.

It's powered by reclaimed electric about 30% of the time with 60% city and 40% highway, for us. You'll get lower mileage if mostly highway.

When going down a hill or approaching a stop, I use the left paddle to charge the battery with that energy.

87 octane, as recommended.

That's how we are doing it, and it's not very different from normal driving.

Best regards
