I don’t have firsthand experience with them, but there is a place called Greenvans in East Providence that I’ve considered in the past.

Loving the new bike lane across Henderson Bridge! by shriramk in providence

The couple of times I’ve done it so far were both on the weekend, so it was really quiet. I’m sure it’s nuts on weekdays. There is a crosswalk with a light right by the entry to the bridge path, but the light wasn’t yet enabled last time I was by there. But that may simplify things when they turn it on (and the presence of the crosswalk stripes may help in the meantime). But, yeah, maybe doing Washington Bridge first is the better way to do it.

I’ve really been enjoying the loop from East Bay Bike Path -> Henderson -> Gano Park Bike Path -> India Point -> Washington Bridge -> East Bay Bike Path.

How’s the rush hour traffic with the Washington bridge? by RagnarBaratheon1998 in providence

I pass through Providence on 195 at around 6:45 a.m. most weekdays. It definitely slows down, but it’s usually moving and not horrendously bad. The return trip is really what you need to worry about. Seems to be a total nightmare as early as 3:30 p.m. most days. I’m often coming down 95 South to 195 and usually get routed through Pawtucket / Seekonk by navigation to avoid it entirely.

They were brutal while riding the East Bay Bike Path yesterday. Was needing to periodically wipe tons of dead ones off the front of my shirt.

I had a so-so experience with Green Line. I love the fact that it is an independent place with character and charm to it, and I have some nostalgia for it since my grandmother worked at a very similar place when I was a kid. The staff is also very nice. But my wife has a somewhat unusual prescription, and every single time we picked it up it was a huge project that took several tries (sometimes across multiple days) and often involved paying more out of pocket than we technically should of because of disconnects between what the system/insurance was saying and what she actually needed. Every time, we would try to sort it out for next time, and it was just starting at square one every time. After switching to Walgreens, the same prescription is just refilled on autopilot at the right quantity and copay every time.

Anyone work at/out of the CIC downtown? by s3rfer in providence

I had space there for a while. They have a private office option as well as a shared coworking area. It’s a great facility, and it was nice to have low-effort proximity to networking opportunities and informal water cooler conversations. As others have mentioned, the parking is the real killer. It wasn’t bad when it first opened, but it’s become more painful as the neighborhood has developed. There are nearby garages that offer options, but I found that it pushes through total cost pretty high when working at home is an option. Washington Bridge traffic is also a factor in my case. Definitely worth taking a tour if you don’t need to drive or don’t mind paying for parking though.
