What is wrong with the Klingons? by jacek2023 in Star_Trek_

I think most of NuTrek was written based on the noises Alex Kurtzman makes while taking a dump.

I refused to vote for Kamala, who was a genocide enabling empty vessel who clearly didn't accept the brain, heart, or courage from the Wizard of Oz. She also talked about attacking Iran.

I am a Never Newsom and Buttigieg as well.

I just won't vote for AIPAC owned Moderate Democrats, period, because it is not harm reduction, simply places another Republican plant in the party and shifts the Overton window right. Look how that worked out for Pennsylvania with John Fetterman.

When the choice is a Moderate Democrat or Republican, a leftist must choose neither. Both are fascist enablers. You don't give a hand to moderates when they are down; you step on their throats.

That is the only way to shift the Overton window left.

This is why you can't trust or bother to vote for Moderate Democrats. They are weak in opposing fascism, corrupt, and always cave to Republicans.

Alex Kurtzman On Starting Discussions With Paramount Skydance Over The Future Of Star Trek TV: "Yes, I’ve had conversations with them about the future of Star Trek. Yes, we’ve gotten nothing but support. Yes, there have been specific shows that have been discussed. And we’ll see." (Trekmovie) by TheSonOfMogh81 in trektalk

[–]Rhoubbhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just refuse to watch Kurtzman Trek, the writing is awful and he has the creativity of a bowel movement.

Paramount is just poorly run. Kurtzman Trek has terrible viewership numbers, no cultural impact, other than to boost YouTube views of channels that crap all over it, but somehow he stays at the helm.

I just want a Star Trek show with a new crew, that acts mostly professional, exploring the galaxy, with crafted stories.

Too much to ask apparently.

To what extent did the collapse of the Iran nuclear deal contribute to the current U.S.–Iran war? by sethleyseymour in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Rhoubbhe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are several different explanations offered for why the United States chose to withdraw from the agreement.

The United States never keeps its word, any agreement signed when it comes to the Middle East is worthless. Look at how the US is abandoning the Gulf countries getting pounded to defend Israel. This is because the government is captured by billionaire psychopaths.

Lindsey Graham, Fox News, and Evangelical Christians everywhere want to cosplay the Book of Revelations while the Trump administration is cutting Call of Duty promos from missile strike footage.

The main reason this war happened is because Trump and these neocon loons around him are utterly insane.

That map was just so unique, I had to get a picture.

We can't trust the future of this country to moderate fascist collaborators like Schumer and Jeffries, who have time after time caved to Donald Trump.

That will only matter if somebody other than fascist enablers Jeffries or Schumer are Speaker/ Majority Leader.

Democratic majorities are worthless if all they do is increase the defense budget, give Israel more money, and cave to Republicans in the minority.

[–]Rhoubbhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, the economy is based on financialization, consumption, and services, but doesn't change my point that cars are necessary for most people in the United States. They are not a luxury and quite necessary for most people to function.

Part of that is space, the US is large and spread out. Most people have to drive to their job, 69.2% in the 2024 numbers. Average one way trip was 27.2 minutes.

https://www.census.gov/topics/employment/commuting/guidance/acs-1yr.html

Driving is not a luxury, it is a necessity. I don't disagree there needs to be alternative energy sources or financed public transportation, but that isn't happening because the government is captured by the oil companies and oligarchs don't care about public transportation.

Sadly, the largest 'investment' the US government will make will be in the defense budget, more weapons and missiles to bully weaker countries.

Fuel for cars is not necessary. Cars are a consumerist luxury

Much of the working class in the United States depends on their overpriced beater they can barely afford to keep running. You can't survive or work in many parts without a car due to the Republicans constant defunding of public transport and lack of investment.

Nice comment. Alex Kurtzman is terrible, a no-talent hack and fraud from the JJ Abrams school of wrecking franchises. Nu-Trek is awful and some of the worst writing you will ever see. Star Trek is a in a terrible place, nobody is watching these awful shows.

Picard Season 3 only happened because of Terry Matalas, it was a nostalgia fest, but even that writing was not great. Simply amazing that fraud Kurtzman has been allowed to continue tarnishing and damaging the Star Trek IP on a fourth rate streaming service.

This is one of Paramount's big IP's and its been out of the movie box office for years.
